Amazed we've not been before. Sunny summer lunch Stunning views of the River from the extensive garden Moongazer beer on draft was excellent Lots to choose from on food menu. Haddock and chips very good Highly recommend
Lovely evening at The Rivergarden. We ate outside in what I can only describe as a magical beer garden overlooking the river. A good pub menu offering a good chice and when our food came it was well presented and delicious. At about 8.00 the Paddle Boarders arrived up the river and created a lively, buzzy atmosphere. A great pub!
We were a party of 10 who recently had our xmas meal at the River Garden. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was tasty, hot with decent portions. Special mention to the home made lemon cheesecake which just melted in your mouth. We will definitely be back
Im so happy with the staff at the river garden, we had a last minute change and needed a space for our quarterly meeting. And they provided food and a warm space not only that and little to my knowledge some of our team required a quiet space and they provided. Great food great team
Popped into this pub with my family on Boxing Day. Lovely fireside table. Warm and very welcoming !
Good menu with plenty of variety, vegetarian and vegan options Reasonably priced Dog friendly
When they first came they were still unpacking the crockery, so to speak, so I promised to re-visit. The tasteful re-vamp is excellent, and the whole place is beautiful from top to bottom. The very reasonably priced menu is delightful. My whitebait were nicely cooked and presented. My son, a trained chef, said his caesar salad was very good. The Jack Rabbit Sauvignon Blanc was very acceptable, but I thought the Shiraz was particularly good. There is also a good selection of beers. The staff and management are charming, just what you need in a local pub and Thorpe needed one badly.
Having paddle boarded from quite a way downstream I was very pleased to find they had a table. One excellent pint and sandwich with a side of fries, I was suitably refreshed to paddle board back to the car.
Major disappointment on father's day. The friendly customer service could not make up for the mediocre food and beer. It really seemed like the cook was on vacation and someone was improvising. Canned olives and sliced bread? Seriously!
Good food, prices, service and lovely setting by the river. Already recommended to friends. 2nd visit at lunchtime 25th Aug..Went with friends who were very Impressed with the menu and location. Once again the food was very good, great service too. And, a huge bonus, its dog friendly
