My fiancé and I were staying in Waterford for my bday and found this amazing place when passing by after visiting the Crystal factory. Staff were very welcoming and prompt with all our needs. Food is so tasty. Glad we got the crispy and peppered calamari as starter, steak and ribs for mains. Highly recommend.
Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and the best veggie burger I've ever had! The beyond burger is to die for We also ordered some delicious strawberry daiquiri cocktails which went down very easy! We will definitely return again. Thank you! Vegetarian options: The Beyond Burger is so good! It comes with fries and looks very meat-like, and has a hint of smoked paprika-like flavour to it. Big and juicy! I honestly could have eaten two but that, as Waterford people say, would've been "pure piggery"
Located at the tip of the "Viking Triangle," The Reg is a great respite from touring the shops and attractions of Waterford. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. Be sure to include the soup of the day as these are particularly tasty. The bar is well-stocked with draught beer and stronger spirits, and the bartenders are well-adapted to mixing specialty drinks. There is a second-floor terrace where music is featured. There are several dining areas and is accessible for the mobility-challenged. Outside the restaurant is a viking-ship replica and other excellent backdrops for selfies.
Awesome place, the waitress was soo friendly and made you feel like home. The food and ambiance was great.
Had a lovely evening meal here, staff are very polite and helpful, the decor in the small bar is traditional and looks quaint with the Christmas lights and tree. The Aperol Spritz is really good here, and reasonably priced
A very nice spot to eat and enjoy your evening... Nice and cosyFood: 5/5
What happened? The Reg used to be a five star place for us to have an amazing dining experience. The last 3 visits have been horrible. Slow and clumsy service is what you will receive. This last was my older son's 23rd birthday. He requested the Reg for our past excellent experiences. We were prepared for disaster because of our last two visits, but this one took the Birthday Cake.... First, seated at a ripped booth with tape, the waiter brings our drinks and serves the first one by spilling it all over an already crowded table. The corner which we were sat was dark, and everyone had to use their phone lights to read the menu. My wife asked for better lighting as our "battery-operated" table lamp was dim. Waiter never returned with the lamp, nor mentioned it. I had to switch the lamps myself from another empty table. As a matter of fact, since we were sitting by the non-operating bar and kitchen entrance, and we had a 3 course meal, several times I had to bus my own table, and not once did anyone say anything about this, all the employees in the area just looked over, not one apology for their slow and sloppy cohort. At dessert, my wife orders coffee first, so it comes before or with dessert. Dessert came. I had to once again get up, go to the operating bar and ask for our coffee. The food was amazing and that's compliments to the chef. The front of house was a disaster!! I got up to pay as we already waited 10 minutes for anyone to appear. Front of house should be ashamed
Absolutly devine, now there were some minor issues hence the 4 instead of 5 stars, but great to be back out in a restaurant. The two boys serving out table on the terrace were fantastic ! The girls let the team down not as attentive but litterly food and seen in photos was delightful, the calamari was so tasty and cooked brilliantly. Brother got the steak it was cooked to perfection. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. My burger was just a tad over cooked but was still a bit juicy so as I said nothing major. Just a few small things here and there, one of the girls was half away with us trying to order more drinks. I recommend the fish and chips or the steak have yet to try the hot and cold seafood platter which I will do next time ! Thanks again
Didn't book, got lucky walking in. Friendly staff. Efficient service. Food was amazing. I had the seafood pie, nice chunks of fish, creamy potatoes and delicious sauce. The deconstructed cheesecake was amazing. Overall, delicious meals had by all. Would deffo recommend a visit.
The food was great, overall experience good too, young chap who served us was great too. Atmosphere and design of the restaurant, beautiful. Only at greeting a blond girl, does not understand the meaning of customer service. Had a table booked for 4 people at 4 pm. Arrived at 2 pm and rang and sent an email on open table that day to extend party to 6 people. Place was empty so shouldn't be an issue. However she had to make a deal out of it, treating customers badly questioning if rang and sent email, when there wasn't an issue with getting a table anyway. Maybe train her on more customer service in the end they who make her have a job. That's the only reason why not 5 stars.
