Lovely cosey restaurant on the quay with great food. Would recommend the chocolate brownie and seafood crepe. We’ll portioned meals appropriately sides out. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Bathroom was clean which is always a great sign. Food is very reasonably priced and is a great place for a weekend munch. Would definitely go back
One of Waterford’s best restaurants. I’ve dined here a couple of times and it was the first place that had South African wine : which made me miss home all the more. The service is always great and feels specifically tailored for you.
Outstanding. The service the food. Wow. I wish we had found this gem earlier in our trip. If I am ever back in Waterford it will be my first choice. Don’t miss out. Get yourself booked in… it’s relaxed pleasant environment you won’t be disappointed
Excellent food with great service. The wait staff is very friendly. But like all restaurants in Ireland you must show proof of covid testing or vaccination.
A must visit when in Waterford. The place is right at the heart of the city, by the river and loads of parking space. The resto has a niche vibe of class and good food. Food was prepared well, and plating was good. We came in at late 8pm so we had asked to have the starters and mains altogether as we are on our way back to Dublin right after. Well proportioned and seasoned food. The staff were polite and accomodating. The price is on point with the kind of customers they r attracting. Would defo be back next time to come bh Waterford.
This is for 15th February 2022. Pretty nice and cheap tbf. €9 Seafood Chowder, €6 Soup of the Day and €26 Steak and Scampi. Kevin was our waiter and pretty friendly. Ordered steak medium and it was just perfect. Still juicy inside and a nice sear on it. A bit bland tbh but that's because it wasn't dry aged or anything. Not a dealbreaker as I didn't order it split it with my dad and I only really splash out for a steak if it's something special say a young Dexter cow steak, etc . Vegetable Soup was alright. It could have been more flavourful but it wasn't bad. Salting vegetables at different stages of cooking, etc. Sautéing vegetables or roasting them in oven with Olive Oil before putting them directly into pot. Creates more flavour but ye probably know this. Maybe it was a salt thing. Chowder was pretty nice for a Tuesday. As I normally avoid eating fish at the start of the week as it is normally scraps from last week Make sure to get a lot of black pepper in it and you're sorted. Nice soft fish from using the flesh nearer to the skin and the smoked fish was a little firm but to be expected. Creamy soup did not feel heavy at all. Nice consistency/thickness, not too thick from using flour, etc. Haddock for the Fried Fish was absolute class. Step above a Fast food place's fish and chips for sure. Batter was crispy AF. Fair play to ye! Fish was freshish. Didn't feel like it was salted. Tartar sauce was nice,it was complimentary and the gravy was class. Chips were really nice as well. Mixture of thin and thick and all were crispy and fluffy, etc. Really good with the gravy. Note: I know this is meant to be a bit of a cheap place but you could get into Natural wine and start a movement in Waterford. Contact Pascal at Le Caveau in Kilkenny if you are interested. Tip: Ask for no ice in the water but if you drink it with the food. You'll be fine as the food is piping hot.
Very delicious food and very good service. Will come again next time.
Had a fantastic time with my friends. The food was excellent. Staffs are friendly. Highly recommended.
The food is absolutely divine. Myself and my son had the calamari starter, followed by the 10oz fillet steak, cooked to perfection. My daughter ate from the kids menu, which had a delicious chicken curry. My only regret was knocking a glass onto the floor, which I can't apologise enough for. If you want perfectly cooked, high quality food, this is the place to go.
We had two streaks, ribeye and sirloin and the John Dory special. Lots of fresh seafood on special. Nothing fancy, not a complaint, just high quality food. And a very good pint. I'll be back for the lamb shank, it looked delicious. Parking: Big lot right across street. Handy crosswalk
