While the kilt outfit is absolutely lovely, the process was aggravating and disappointing.  When I asked about lead time in late November, I was told 8 weeks usually, but 10 weeks with the Christmas break. That sounded fine, so we went ahead and ordered a full kilt outfit for our 9 year old.  When I touched base in late January (8 weeks later) nothing had even been started and I was told it would be the end of February before I would see the outfit.  15 weeks from order.  The delay was obviously frustrating, but for me the most disappointing part was that the person I was dealing with (through Facebook since my emails went unanswered) seemed unconcerned and completely unapologetic that it was taking 5 weeks longer than I was quoted.  She made me feel that my requests for updates were inconvenient to her and that my order wasn’t a value to her.  As our daughter is only 9, we envision many more outfits (highland and national) in her future, and we most certainly will not be ordering them from The Reel, and will not be recommending them to anyone who asks where we got the outfit.

I ordered a brooch for my daughters costume and it was in stock. Two weeks later i still hadnt received the item and despite emailing and phoning i never got a response. They didnt even answer the phone. I left a message on the answering machine saying i was going to report them for fraud and i got an email to say the item had been shipped shortly after. It shouldnt need shipped if the item is in stock and the company is based in scotland. I then got a card through my door telling me that  royal mail had tried to deliver my item but couldnt as the sender had not paid enough postage and they wanted me to pay £12.00 to get it. I have left it in the mail office and am reporting them for fraud. They are obviously not a reputable company and noone should buy from them. This is quite clearly a scam.

Under pressure!!  I was making my daughters waistcoat for her first competition and in my haste ordered online the buttons, hooks and braiding, to what I thought was correct. The lovely lady from the Reel rang me to ask 'was it just one button I wanted?'  As I had ordered the hooks in packets I overlooked that the buttons were sold separately, so of course I needed 10! This would has been a real disaster as I only had 3 days to make it. At that time it was 4.30pm on the Tues and she said she would put them in the post that day, I was absolutely amazed and delighted that I received the packet next morning! Thank you so much for your help and making the waistcoat come to fruition!
