Recently taken over and refurbished but love the fact they've kept the feel of the old set up, wooden floors, loads of old pictures and mix and match old tables/chairs. Popped in for a drink and ended up staying for meal. Although a pub - you do get table service. It was Sunday evening and was so pleased that the roasts were still available. Very nice meal. Good service. Handy for us - can walk there or get a bus/tube to Leytonstone High Road from home
I came for a sunday roast with my partner, having been lots and lots of times before as it’s my local.nnI ordered the beef, medium rare and was told after ordering that all the beef was coming out medium - well done. When I tried to change it to the pork instead I was told the chef was already making it and I couldn’t change…nnI saw two beef roasts come out while I was getting through mine, rare/medium rare.nnThe meal was good, my partners chicken was brilliant and all the rest of the roast was great, I just felt it was dealt with poorly, they’re not cheap roasts here and I expected to be able to change when being informed of an issue.
I wanted to share what an incredible time my friends and I had at your pub this past Sunday. We initially stopped by to watch the Wimbledon finals, but your Sunday roast display caught our eye. When the staff mentioned we could enjoy unlimited Yorkshire puddings, we couldn’t resist! The roast was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, hearty, and those Yorkshire puds were a highlight.nnThe atmosphere was spot on, lively yet welcoming, which made us decide to stay on for the football match. It was such a great vibe that we didn’t want to leave! I also noticed how hard the manager was working, constantly checking on tables and ensuring everyone was having a good time. It really made the day feel special and well-run.nnThe Red Lion is a gem of a pub, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for making our Sunday so memorable!
Recently been to the red lion and I must say it was so welcoming.nFood was delicious!nOur waitress Lilly took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed so lovely, thank you for having us.
Second time we've been here for a Sunday lunchtime pint in the past month...and the last time.nA real disappointment compared with the previous time.nInappropriately loud music for this time of day and a less than willing bar person who when asked if he could turn down the music a tad, replied 'I can' and simply disappeared...but this doesn't mean he was going to and I don't believe he did.nnA shame because we really enjoyed the last time we were here and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly
