Story

A picturesque 14th Century pub situated in a small village near the town of Faversham. Surrounded in history the pub dates back to the 1300's and still contains many original features. The pub offers a selection of traditional english food alongside the frequently changing seasonal specials. Facilities include an upstairs restaurant, availiable for dining or large functions, a front patio overlooking the church and village green and a well established pub garden with many historical features and a large play area for children.

An excellent pub with friendly, helpful, efficient staff. We popped in for a drink after attending the funeral of a friend, so I can't comment on food. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. There was a good choice of real ale available, the one I tried was in superb condition. There's a well laid-out, large car park, too. Recommended.

5 Star Sunday Nut Roast Lunch. The quality of the food was fantastic…best homemade Nut Roast we have had for a long time, in fact all the vegetables & roast potatoes were cooked to perfection & we are fussy! We had a fantastic time at this lovely pub, when we turned up for Sunday Roast Lunch with our 2 dogs, on Easter weekend. We were all made really welcome inside by the friendly staff & the atmosphere in this beautiful old pub was super. Would definitely go again if we find ourselves in the area.

A welcome pit stop when out for a evening stroll, can certainly recommend the Red Lion lager. Only stopped for an hour or so but the atmosphere felt just right. Will certainly return to sample the menu.
We discovered the pub from a recommendation while staying in Faversham and must say, could not be a better recommendation. The pub looks like a time portal to a few centuries ago in a great location with an amazing preserved building of course adapted with modern technology. Great look isn't it all as the team there were great, welcomed us as we entered, knowledgeable service and fantastic food. Walking or riding, this pub is a must visit.

My sister and I have been to The Red Lion a few times but I just had to say that the service was exceptional last Wednesday. We’d only booked that afternoon but we’re accommodated with two dogs. The waiter and waitress, Jacob and Eva, took excellent care of us and provided the dogs with a fur blanket to lie on, a bowl of water and also treats. It was a lovely evening.
