As someone who has always been a huge fan of the range and have shopped there for all of my seasonal gear for years, I am so disappointed after today’s visit to this store. Long story short, there were the Halloween ceramic paintable castle on offer at £8.99 on the ticket, I took a picture of it to send to my other half and we agreed to get one for my son I was with because it was a good price. Picked up the rest of the autumn stuff as there was a decent 20% off sale on and headed to the till. When the lady scanned it through, it came up at £14.99, the price before the sale, so I mentioned that it should be £8.99 and the lady said oh no, I think they were supposed to take those price reductions off but it is at that price so I’ll have to call my manager to bring the price down but she might not. I asked why not when that’s the price it’s advertised at and she said well it was supposed to be online only so we should have had the tickets on. When the manager came she said unfortunately I can’t reduce the price because it scans though as £11.99 with the 20% off so there’s nothing else I can do. I asked why she couldn’t honour it and she said she can’t put it through on the till. I’ve never known a till not have an override price button. When I asked why should couldn’t scan the other item through that was the same price she looked at me like something she had on the bottom of her shoe and said well obviously I can’t because I’m not selling that item. My 4 year old was crying by this point and because of the extremely poor customer service and general empathy from the manager I decided to cancel the rest of the £50 transaction out of principle, not because of the £3 but because of how shocking the service was. Fast forward to a seriously upset 4 year old and disappointed mum, I think I’ll have to consider other shops for my Christmas decs this year if that’s the service you want to provide and the way you want to treat your customers. This is a general observation rating rather than a store-specific one. It is not an easy store to navigate with a trolley. Aisles are not two trolley widths wide; things are stacked at the end of aisles, and there is always restocking going on from large pallets scattered throughout the store during opening hours. I appreciate that this is how your stores are run, as I have been to several different ones throughout the UK, and I really like shopping with you... but I do find it a quite a stressful shopping experience.
Went there the other day for some bits , one item was on sale but came through on the till with the original price. The cashier lady was lovely and suggested to check the price together on the shelf. She realised the till wasn’t updated, so she got the manager to fix the price together the new discounted one. Very helpful and kind
Plenty of household goods to pick from not too busy a bit of a queue to get out but it soon went down . Seemed reasonably priced to me .Good range of paint, curtains and bedding. Has a good craft section also caters for pets
Not called the range for nothing. Huge range of varying products, mostly home decor and wares. If you can't find what you're looking for here then it probably doesn't exist. My only gripe is the layout. Feels like a giant jumble sale in parts.
