Love this place! It’s a strange combination of meditation tapas and a grade 2 listed Lancashire country inn! It shouldn’t work, but I love it. I have been here many times and the food is consistently good. The service is always friendly and be sure to book to avoid disappointment! The food is served in terracotta style pots, they could do with an update as they have become a bit worn, but that’s just the view of a potter. It can be a little dark inside, but this is the trade off when eating in a historical building! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting tapas in a friendly independent restaurant.

Visited this wonderful place last weekend with another couple we had delicious and authentic tapas from an extensive menu. We also stayed over in the most lovely, tastefully decorated accommodation that had oodles of rustic charm, with comfy bed, quality linen and on suite bathroom with excellent rainforest shower. A hearty Breakfast was included the following morning which set us on our way to face the cold and snowy elements! If you’re looking for something different, look no further! Oh, & mine host Mark is funny & interesting - get him to tell you about the history of The Rake - and a few jokes!

Food good but let down by the service which is slow and sporadic. Having yo keep asking for things is not good.
