Not allowed to eat here as I'm 12 years old. So went to THE BOAT INN at Penkridge, had a sirloin steak cooked medium, with homemade chips and buttered kale, it was DELICIOUS. I would suggest go to THE BOAT INN you will be made to feel very welcome.

We were a party of ten. Table was ready when we arrived and there were plenty of staff. The food was extremely good, hot, well served and with more vegetables than we could eat. A very good lunch.

It was a ‘Michael Jackson’ evening! (Very exclusive- the whole restaurant to ourselves)
6.30 dining on a Monday. Excellent presentation, hot plates, choice of 2 vegetarian mains. Girl with Japanese name - excellent service - but pls tell her the coffee defn wasn’t decaf !! An extra star would be for more vegan /veg choices and decaf latte n cappuccino. Fabulous. Thank you.

I have visited this pub a few times over the years and have always had top notch food. It has been a while since my last visit so we booked for a Saturday evening with friends, This is still a lovely pub but but when we arrived about 8:30pm there were very few people in and the few tables in use looked like they would be leaving soon after. The food looked freshly looked,  piping hot and plenty of it but sadly the starters and main courses were ruined by the amount of salt added during cooking, one choice was a lasagna and this was borderline inedible. There were plenty of side dishes but again the large plate of chips were way too salty. For the price of the food I would expect much better as it used to be. On the plus side the serving staff could not be faulted.
