Been coming here for the past 3 years for my yearly Xmas get together with friends. On arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff and a roaring log burner. This pub has been recommended by The Good Pub Guide and the AA Pub Guide plus it has various other awards to its name. By the bar there are plenty of special menu boards up. We were here for the Xmas menu which too had plenty to choose from. A regular visitor recommended the Thursday Steak Night which is next on my list! The restaurant had waiting staff who were professional yet friendly. The food was fantastic, well presented and of exceptional quality. I chose pate for my starter, fish main course and a very indulgent desert! A very popular restaurant. We ate early, 6pm when the doors open but it soon started to fill up. Best to book! For the quality of food and great servive the prices are reasonable.

Terrible experience here. The dining room view from the window looks out onto a dual carriageway! So for the whole experience our table was seated right upto the window facing the view of cars and lorries etc coming past. The building is only around 2 metres from the dual carriageway. The food was just ok, I’ve had better here in the past, however just recently the food just isn’t on the mark. It’s not a one off either because it’s consistently been off for the past 8 times as I was giving it the benefit if the doubt. Greasy finger prints on the plates when they are served, melted ice cream served. The prices were still the same but the service and quality was not.

Wide variety of well cooked meals. Desserts also a fantastic choice. Service was brilliant and staff make you feel welcome. Would highly recommend a visit
