This is a lovely Riverside park. The Dingle is a well laid out garden with pond. A great place just to sit and relax but it closes at 4.30 on the dot. The Quarry remembers Percy Thrower who used to work there. The Severn flows by the side of the park and gives it a serene feel.

Quick summary : amazing place, with lovely old bridges and pretty garden. Recommended. Great for Walks, picnics, exercise and landscape photography. How long to enjoy the whole park : 1-1.5hrs Location : easy to find. If parking use the road signs or Google map " the quarry fitness centre" as its the closest parking lot to the park. I would recommend coming here as this park is simply beautiful. The homes and buildings that line the river on the outskirts are beautiful. The bridges are charming and great places to take photos. The river goes around the whole park and sometimes you'll see a tour boat sailing passed. There is a cafe at parking lot for a drink but looks outdated. I recommend having a walking through the town and enjoying a drink. There are loads of paths to take around the park and most lead to the centre where you'll find the most cute and pretty little garden. There are benches to sit and admire. Nice water features and lovely plants. You can't get great views of st Chad's church aswell. Overall, I advise visiting the quarry and its inner flower garden. It's very beautiful and charming as is the town itself.

I didn't spend as much time here as I would have liked. I'm going to come back. There's plenty of grass, beautiful views of Shrewsbury and the river Severn, lovely planted flowers (saw lots of different tulips). There were several ice cream vans, a coffee shack that did very nice ice cream and a cafe attached to what I think is a leisure centre. There was a set of public toilets at the top and bottom of the hill (the whole park is on a slope down to the river). There was also a well equipped playpark at the bottom that was packed full of families.

Had a lovely day. Arrived early for splash park which was already packed but kids loved it. Dingle was looking lovely.

A lovely large open space near Shrewsbury town centre I've known this park since my childhood; now it is a wonderful place to walk, exercise, play and relax. Handy for town centre pubs and restaurants as well as the excellent "Boathouse" pub just over Port Hill footbridge. The old quarry itself is in the middle, and provides a landscaped garden with ornamental lake and statuary. It is a great haven in which to sit and relax, the annual display of bedding plants is not to my taste, but I know some people do enjoy it.
