Amazing little bar for every beer kind you can think of. It's probably best known for Belgium German beer selection but you also have ales and other imported beers. Love the service, atmosphere and overall vibe. People coming here are usually an above average beer enthusiast which creates a nice and lovely environment.
Giving 5 stars for everything, including food which they don't do they have nibbles might seem a bit mental when you actually enter the place, but I promise you it's a little bit of calm magic in a city of chaos. Beautiful beer, good service and an atmosphere that is unlike anywhere else. Love it.Food: 5/5
Really nice place very much what you expect from a city centre hidden drink delight, great service and atmosphere pleased I went in.Service: 5/5
Great little find right near New Street Station. Good vibe and atmosphere and a nice selection of ales available. Excellent display of beer bottles around the bar on shelving and the wifi password made me chuckle.Service: 5/5
Full of people keeping to themselves, no great atmosphere. We were a group of five, A little tipsy but not drunk, I got refused service the second time I went to the bar even though I poured my first drink into an empty pint glass left on the table as it was disgusting not blaming the bar for that, I went off of the name of the cider they also refused to serve my friend as we were "too dangerous" to serve alcohol to even though she was the sober one of us all as she doesn't drink alcohol and only wanted a soft drink. Never going here again.
Great little traditional pub in Birmingham city centre, good selection of real ales and specialises in bottled continental beers.Service: 5/5
Didn't try the food, but if they do food, I'm sure it would be 5 stars. Such is my overwhelming appreciation and confidence in this establishment. Great choice of beers and spirits and ciders and wine. Thankfully, there is also an Atmosphere obviously as without which, we wouldn't be able to breathe or survive. But yes, I can't fault this place, although some of the seating needs a little refurbishment. But then the torn upholstery and foam coming out of the seat just adds to the quirky nature of the place. Even the kind of damp smell and lack of hand sanitiser kind of screams we are olde worldy and it's great to be like that, and it's underground too. Oh, and there is no phone signal in there. It really is like stepping back to a different time. It was a time when maybe we had more chatting and interactions. A time land forgot, and science turned its back on. Simply stepping into this establishment takes you back in time. That's got my vote. Although the prices are definitely very much of the now.
Popped in for a swift pint before athletics and ended up having 2. Its welcoming pub, down some steps. Opening out to a single room with hops on the ceiling, old photos of the area and a fantastic selection of cask ale. I think six when I visited. The bottle selection was tempting but I didn't have a lot of time. Barstaff and clientele were friendly.
Lovely little place tucked away in the middle of Brum. Expect to struggle to find a seat at busy times though, but worth it for the Great selection of beers they have, and the friendly welcome and great atmosphere.Service: 5/5
Atmosphere and interior design is remarkable - it feels like a time warp to a scene in Inglourious Basterds. I really wish I could say the same for the Hacker-Pschorr and Paulaner - unfortunately after just 2 pints of either of these, I’ve been sick within an hour or 2 not a hangover, I know my limits and 2 pints falls far short! without fail. I’ve had both beers in other pubs across the country and in my half-native Germany, and not had the same reaction, so I’m not sure why it happens here in particular. I have to give more stars than just 1 or 2 because regardless I still come in and play Russian Roulette every time, hoping to find a beer that doesn’t make me see my dinner twice.
