Never saw such a spectacular Red Post Box. We fly especially vom Stuttgart Germany to see this great Box. Great. Thanks for showing this sightseeing.
Great for posting letters and small parcels. Sturdy enough to survive a truck bomb
Worth a look. History you can touch and use. Doesn't close on a Monday, unlike half the attractions in this city.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Hidden bit of history. Not much to it, it's a post box. But it's kind of cool that they've put up a plaque to remember that it survived. Since you'll pass it quite often, might as well stop for a photo.
I remember the pictures of this back in the day. I was actually in town - on Oldham Street, at the time of the bombing. So this little Mancunian iconic feature, has a special meaning to me.
I called with my victorian penny farthing bike as I thought it was fitting as the box is also victorian as well.
If you like postboxes and/or the history of Manchester in the 90s, definitely worth a visit.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I find the height of this sturdy and trusty old fella is just perfect for cards, letters and small parcels.
Used this post box many times safe in the knowledge my post will survive a 1500kg truck bomb.
