We are staying locally for a few nights and noticed The Poachers on our way by. We decided to call in and were welcomed by the lovely staff, had a great value meal and dessert. Also a lovely selection of ales.  Thanks very much. Well worth a visit.

Great free house with good food and atmosphere

It has to be 5 stars. The staff are outstanding, greeting customers at the door, taking them to there seat, then returning to take their order. The poachers have one priority, to provide a safe environment for their customers and staff.

Went for the superb pie night which is every Wednesday! Home made pie and chips with peas and a drink included. Great selection of real ales. Best pie  around, great service and the  staff are so lovely. One of our favourite places

Nice pub, especially after a long walk. Good food, great service, fully Covid-19 aware. Dog friendly too!

Now offering take away food - our curry and pie combo were excellent tonight!
