Was told to go to Wetherspoon here as they had great food. I'd call it average at best. The BBQ chicken pizza had a nice crust but seemed rather bland. The chicken tenders were similar to McDonald's but came with a soy glaze. The bacon and chicken salad had a fantastic dressing though. Would definitely recommend that. Service was quick though and good location off the main strip.
Typical Weatherspoons selection and Price of Drinks excellent, location also very central with good customers care and security staff paying attention and communicating in a friendly way 0% Internet in outside seating area, but acceptable Internet inside, food Weatherspoons nothing to add, I wouldn't eat but I guess other people would Enjoy ... location Central and within easy reach of the Omni shopping centre.
An ok place. Service was quick and food was ok. Had their new spicy chicken strips deal 12.2£ with a. Drink. The food was ok. 5 chicken strips but were not spicy. Drink Gordon’s was okay
Sat there on few occasions during our holiday on Edinburgh. The first time service was brilliant, we had a bit of a hard time because as you can imagine it's always busy but however drinks came a second after we ordered and the food not long after. But that was it. The second time we went was only for a few. 35 mins later after we ordered and two times going to the bar, still no sight of our drinks. Same thing happened the third time. Idk how much time they need for a draft beer and bottle of cider.
My friend originally wanted to go to the Chinese buffet next door at COSMO but they were too busy and the queue was long. We needed to grab something to eat as we were going to the Tattoo so we didn't have time to wait around. Outside was very busy with people having a drink and we were going to go inside to Nando's. However once inside the shopping centre, we could see The Playfair had more space/seats inside. We found a seat easily and ordered quickly. Although super busy, it was easy to order and food was delivered quickly. Although I have been to different Spoons branches many times back home in London, I had never had the curry before so I was a bit apprehensive what to expect. I needn't worry. The food was tasty and filling. I thought the portion was a little on the small side but the Naan Bread and Poppadoms fill you up. Good prices and value for money and I got my Alcohol free Kopperberg fix so I was happy. If you aren't fussy and don't mind simply, tasty food then Whetherspoons is your go to place. Toilets are clean but the sink basins are a bit funnily placed low and the taps are put in at an odd angle. Aside from this, good place to eat.
Paid 4.99 0n a special offer sirloin steak and chips and the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Poor on this occasion. Service was fast, food was great, and the toilets were clean. However the door beside us into the Omni Centre was constantly being wedged open. First excuse was that someone had complained of the heat. The next time we were told that all doors had to be left open to avoid being a fire hazard this was the only door left open. Third time it was apparently because glasses had to be taken in and out……. At least get your stories straight.
Staff are very lazy, drinks are well priced and the food is alright for what you pay. Toilets are normally clean, not always but most of the time. I think the staff are particularly slow and almost deliberately so. They seem to be happy to be slow, other Wetherspoons have much quicker service.
Disappointing. Poor. Unhappy customer. My steak had way too much fat on it, and the first three mouthfuls were chuck. So bad I sent it back first time ever. Waiter was clearly p!ssed off, gave no apology and lacked any enthusiasm or empathy. He did come back to ask if the 2nd steak was okay, but still no apology. Ordered American pancakes for dessert. They were cold and, in places, barely defrosted. Did not appear any care or preparation had been done. Usually these pancakes are served hot, with warm maple syrup. The menu doesn't specify hot or warm, or they would have gone back too. I accept these things may occasionally happen when the place is busy. But it was more than half empty, and not everyone was ordering food. This was meant to be a special occasion, bringing my daughter back to uni. But this meal was a disaster. Not happy. At all
Probably worst breakfast I’ve ever had It’s spoons I’m aware. Hadn’t even picked up my mugs from the table to get my coffee and the breakfast was already on the table. Freezing cold. Normal breakfast had about 3 things on it. Small bit of beans, 2 small hash browns and a sausage. Actually looks laughable when it comes out. The speed it came out tells everything you need to know.
