We came to this establishment for a nice steak. Prior to an appointment I had in the area.. the staff nice people but not very attentive. I ordered the steak. I can honestly say for for £28 it came and looked like a sock on my plate… the steak itself was flavourless and had zero seasoning. The fat on the steak was almost unbearable. The pepper corn sauce was tasty but cold. And the fries were like fries to go. I would return just wouldn’t get the steak for that price.. I’d pay £12 for that meal. PLEASE SEASON YOUR STEAK
Came in for some food during the week as I have heard from a friend the food was amazing. I ordered from the lunch menu receiving a meal and a drink for only £11.50. Staff were very friendly and service was excellent. Came back on the following Saturday to enjoy the live music and great atmosphere. Brilliant pub would recommend. Also dog friendly.
Was in last night for the valentines meal, it was absolutely fantastic! The food was fabulous, great atmosphere, staff were brilliant! I will most definitely be booking for next year I would highly recommend!
I woul like to thank Michael, Rocky& all the staff, myself family & friends booked our dinner for Christmas day. It's my first time ever going out for Christmas lunch. Everything was perfect from us arriving until we left, food was absolutely amazing all 3 courses. Could not fault anything atmosphere was lovely too.We are booking again for next year. Thanks again to all the staff for an amazing day.
Never been here before - on the face of it seemed a decent enough pub. Staff were okay but not especially chirpy. Food came fairly quickly. My friends & I had the lunch deal for £11.50. Other reviews says the food here is good but I’m afraid this wasn’t the case here & to be honest - as well as being average quality - the small portion size left us feeling a bit ripped off. We had the leek soup with cheese sandwich. Soup was lacklustre & probably not more than a small mug full in a bowl but it was the sandwich that killed it ; half a cheese sandwich made out of normal white bread cut in half then stacked on top of each other along with some tired looking watercress. Truly bizarre ! Imagine a sandwich made out of four soldiers you’d dip in an egg. I’ll be honest - I’ve never seen anything like it. Maybe it’s trendy in Newton Le Willows ? Very disappointed but that said, based on all the other positive reviews I will return & give it another chance. Hopefully they will give me the other half of my sandwich too.
