Story

Tucked away below the hustle and bustle of Hope Street, The Pen Factory is the reincarnation of the original Everyman Bistro. Culinary entrepreneur Paddy Byrne and award winning chef Tom Gill have recreated the same relaxed armosphere in this new home just next door, and customers can expect the same friendly welcome and quality food and drink.

With a wide selection of spirits, wines and beers on the menu and small plates perfect for sharing customers can enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in the buzz of our subterranean home or in the quiet oasis of our garden.

Taking inspiration from the Lang Pen Company which operated here in the late 1800's, we're building on our own Hope Street history and writing the next chapter at The Pen Factory.

The pen factory is our go to for a family meal. The setting, staff and food is always perfect. 8 of us turned up on a Friday night and we were still found a table. The food is slightly expensive but worth it - always served quick and SO tasty and delicious. The salads are ridiculously good!
Just had a couple of pints of beer which was excellent. Friendly attentive staff. Very clean. Highly recommended.
Very unique menu. Had to take a wild guess on ordering and loved it. Had the potato cakes and the pulled beef and both were cooked beautifully. Pulled beef has strong taste so needs breaking up with a salad which I should of ordered. Would definitely go again. Every dish sounded interesting and original.

Charming retro cool restaurant bar with friendly staff and great beer. The food is stunning but the portions are tiny. Delicate and arty. I saw 'small plates' on the menu in relation to an offer, that should have been a clue. I'd definitely return, now I know the score.
