I cannot believe that we have not visited this restaurant after being in Grove Park for many years. The restaurant is lovely and the food is to die for. There is so much choice on the menu, with 5 courses. We had the mixed starter which was my other half's favourite, my favourite was the 3rd course which was the duck and lamb peking pancakes. Wow. The service is excellent, lemon and water which I've only seen in really expensive restaurants before, hand towels and a fortune cookie at the end. There is also a lovely atmosphere here, staff are super attentive and the clientele I think come back a lot and I can see why. Thank you for a great evening, we will return!
We went for the buffet menu which was £23.95 it's all you can eat but the food is cooked to order, and the wait for some of the dishes was long and the food we ordered come out of the kitchen whenever it came. But saying that I would go again.Food: 5/5
£19.95 for all you can eat. Starters were nice and hot and quite delicious. My group had trouble with two waiter/waitresses when trying to explain allergy requirements as we were told twice they could not accommodate for a sesame & shellfish allergy. We then had to explain to a 3rd waitress and the dietary requirements were finally met. The mains were served luke warm borderline cold but I will give them the benefit of the doubt as they were quite busy on the Sunday. Food was flavoursome but the Noodles were too greasy, honey pork was tough and the chop suey was extremely salty. Overall I would recommend for groups, but I wouldn’t go on such a busy night.
First time for me here and will definitely be coming back the food was beautiful! The staff was very attentive and friendly and very generous. I paid the bill said Thankyou and walked out and as my daughter followed they gave her a bottle of my favourite wine to take home I did not get a chance to say Thankyou for that as they was so busy. So here it is Peking Diner....THANKYOU SO MUCH we will see you soon x oh just to add the mussels were outstanding! Could not fault anything!
Our whole family have been going for many many years! The food is always amazing, cooked fresh and nothing is too much trouble for Rita and her amazing staff. We were first introduced to the Peking Diner by my father-in-law Dr David in about 2010 and have continued to go ever since and will funnily enough be there this Sunday! Can't wait :
The owner makes the visit special. Little touches like the bottle of wine when she realised it's a birthday meal. Quality and standard remain intact at the restaurant. The effort to freshen up the place did not go unnoticed. Looking forward to next visit.
Decent enough restaurant. The all you can eat buffet was a hit at first, with the staff being quick to see to us. But then a few things were missed after ordering. A total of 3 dishes were missed, even though they were being written down on a pad when taking our orders. We began to felt rushed, like they were trying to get us out of the restaurant to free up the table, clearing up whilst we're still eating, etc. And being a Friday night you could feel the waiters, waitresses and even manager getting stressed as the restaurant began to get very busy. Budget restaurant for budget food. As previously said it's decent enough, but could definitely do better.
Been getting collection from this restaurant a 5 minute drive from my house for over 10 years. Recently make a small order from deliveroo their driver and the food came over an hour later - just passed the deliveroo window time - and cold. Ultimately it made me sick, which is a shame because the food is decent and this has never happened before. I can only suggest you collect your order or dine in rather than receive food im quite sure had been sitting waiting to be delivered for over 30 minutes.
Ordered a take away at 5pm tonight and was told it would be one hour for delivery. After chasing our delivery twice it arrived 1 1/2 hours later. Paid just over £50. When we unpacked the food half of it was missing. The driver returned with the other half after calling the restaurant for the 4th time. All dishes were cold and most cartons were far from full. A max of 10 prawn crackers. Dishes were no where near good and the curry runny. Such a shambles and completely ruined our evening meal with family. Will never use this restaurant again. Only given one star to allow me to post my review.
We use this restaurant regularly but very very disappointed this time. Starters are the best. Soup only half a bowl portions have really shrunk even though you can reorder. Food was not hot especially the main course dishes which were tiny. We usually get a complimentary liquere at the end but not on this occasion as the Owner away! We also dont recall paying a service charge before. We have heard from other regulars its going down hill. Giving it a miss for a while hoping it improves
