This is the best local Chinese restaurant in the Borough, maybe I'm biased because I've been eating here for three decades but honestly the food is consistently good, prices are reasonable and it's family friendly. The ingredients are always fresh and the food is never oily. The decor and crockery have never changed in my lifetime but it doesn't look too dated it just looks 'traditional' and familiar. If you're in or close to the area it's worth a visit. Support local businesses. C19 has messed with everyone this year.
Absolutely fabulous! My entire family has been coming here for over 30 years now. We've always had great food and service. I have severe life threatening food allergies, including peanuts, fruits and vegetables, which I made clear on calling and entering the restaurant and they made every effort to ensure the food I wanted to order was cooked completely separate to everyone else's. Also they let me know what I should probably stay clear of. I had no bad reactions what so ever and my food was brought out to me separately to insure no cross contamination with others. I'd become so used to just eating before I came out to family dinners to avoid the risk of becoming unwell or risking my life. But this place just smashed it in all ways. Beautiful fresh tasting food, awsome friendly caring and attentive service. My family and I love this place and I live a good 40 minutes drive away now, but I'll never fo anywhere else! Love it!
I've been coming here for years and the restaurant has played host to numerous birthdays and surprise parties over that time. a recent update of the menu has produced some lovely new dishes and the service has always been fantastic. food-wise, this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the south-east, if not THE best. The place actually feels like a part of my life due to The number of times I've visited with my family and friends-long may it continue!
My fiancé and I held our engagement party here earlier this month, 50 guests. The management were really helpful with planning beforehand, for example; they helped us choose a menu tailored to our guests and ordered table flowers to match our colour theme. On the day the service was fantastic- were very kind in offering us help to set up the function room with our decorations, provided us with a cake stand and sparkler candles, nothing was too much for the staff, the service was quick, efficient and friendly. We had nothing to worry about and could enjoy the night care free and focus on our guests.The food was lovely and our guests really enjoyed themselves. Would definitely recommend the eastern queen to any one looking to hold a dinner party, 5 star.
Food was overpriced and the ‘chicken’ meat was an awful texture and got stuck down two of the group’s throat as impossible to chew. They also had a special section of the restaurant for only their Chinese customers and literally rolled out the carpet for them vs everyone else. They’ll also charge you £1 for masks and doggy bags. Wouldn’t come back.
Disappointed. We have been going to this Restruant for 16yrs but we are never visiting there again. On our Wedding Anniversary - 3rd of October 2016, we booked a Table for 7pm. The starter was very good as usual but then came the means. As usual I ordered my usual which was King Prawns Fried Rice. When the food came, it was like someone just dished plain rice n prawns. Infact we sent back 2 Dishes to be recooked and by the time it came back I had lost my appetite to eat the food. After the horrific dinning experience, they had the cheek to bill us £70+. We paid and left heart broken.
No more. The food is fresh? Yes is it! Definitely they said. But wasn't at all. We took food for home and wasn' fresh: the crispy beef OMG no way to eat it, hard like rock, and we tool 2 dishes like this what a mistake! The shrimp was not fresh, the special rice as well, the dumpling as well, but a bit more tasty because of the salt they add to the meals. Almost 33£ for all this, NEVER AGAIN
Lots of seating, good food and reasonably price. Good waiter service. Have been quite a few times and can honestly say that the experience has always been good. While not up market, the decor is nice and quite tranquil.
