My son and I called in for some lunch. Wow what a suprise. Although the pub was very quiet it was about 1PM not expecting too much I ordered gammon my son ordered sausage and mash. Both meals were absolutely delicious and the staff were lovely and we chatted with them to say how much we enjoyed it. We can't wait to go back. I would wholeheartedly recommend going here for a lovely lunch
A gateway to the city and what used to be the end of the pub run from the Hope, Ewe Tree, Black Dog.... Clean tidy and a great choice of beer, wines and spirits. Indoor and outdoor seating, great staff. Often a small queue before the noon opening. Aug 24 - guests ales coming included Black Sheep, a personal fav.
Had a great time here a few weeks ago using the 20% off offer for students! Everyone was really friendly and helpful. The staff member who dealt with me knew the menu really well and gave us some good recommendations on what to eat. Also really liked the new TV in the beer garden. Will definitely be booking a table in the beer garden for the Euro matches. Thank you again!
First time I've been in the Palace. What can I say, it's a pub. The staff were friendly and I was served quickly. I wanted to go sit outside with friends but didn't know where to go and a member of staff directed me. Nice to see a "Pub" surviving in these days.Service: 4/5
Visiting from Wales and I wish I’d found this place earlier one of the best fish and chips I’ve had. And as long as mrs Hurley is happy I’m happy and she was very happy Food: 5/5

We went here a few times during the weekend. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much. They talked to us and had good conversation. The food was nice and reasonably priced. Most of us ordered on the app and it came very quickly. The facilities were good.Food: 4/5
Rude, unpleasant female staff member. This used to be a great pub, I know so many people that now refuse to go in Was asked to provide further info: It was the lady with the scraped back hair and loads of tattoos. She has zero interpersonal skills and is rude and unpleasant I'll go back when she's gone, as it's always been a great pub, good beers and decent food. Cheers
Having been recommended to try the food here by a good friend, We did exactly that. If I tried, I quite honestly wouldn't be able to find fault in the food we were served tonight. Without doubt, for the price range at the Palace, the food is of exceptional quality. I will certainly before too long be dining there again. Thank you.
It Was a great afternoon and the food was lovely we was in the pub for a families 50th birthday but as it got closer to 8pm some of the staff made it know they wanted us to leave as in their words "we want to go out side but there is too many customers and we're not allowed till the premises have less people on site" and refuse to serve more drinks they we're very rude and very unprofessional
