A big thank you to Lorraine and Joe for a lovely warm welcome. As I am a wheelchair user they were more than happy to help in any way they could. The room was excellent, very clean with plenty of space. Car parking was easy and the hotel pet friendly. Next door is Suzy cafe, excellent food and very good value for money. We will definitely be coming back. 10/10. Rooms: Spacious and very clean also very comfortable. Safety: As a wheelchair user both my wife and myself felt very safe, if there was a problem help wasn't far away.
Found a little gem for our weekend away with our dog for a Swedish day event. Just perfect greeted by two lovely dogs and the wonderful Lorraine who was friendly helpful just couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect Thank you Very clean room and a comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend this place to stay.
The gate to the car park is shut, but let yourself in, it's only to keep some adorable four-legged friends in. The staff was friendly and welcoming to both me and my puppy. There is a friends and family atmosphere that makes you feel at home straight away. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The food breakfast and supper was lovely, and the rooms are quaint and clean. Would definitely recommend, whether you're dropping in for a pint or for the weekend.
Amazing little gem! If you have dogs this place is for you! Or even without them. Beautiful little rooms and everyone so friendly. The dog had an amazing stay with the other pups around in a close in safe place for all the dogs to play. Will defo stay again!!
Well unfortunately there's a story here .. Upon leaving literally if had an email informing me that the property had cancelled my booking literally last secobd so I'd emailed the property n asked if there was a problem no problem so all good ....bearing in mind I'd paid for this around 5th April bank statement date so they refunded card 7 to 12 days they said ... so that's holiday fund done I'd had to ask work to use company van so the budget I'd had was to cover diesel expenses....so was asked for payment upfront on the day I tried to contact booking.com ....29 min worth of calls n what sounded like a robot..Mrs words to ..I asked booking .com to refund instantly so I could pay for the room that they cancelled..tried to explain....it was there fault because I didn't need refund just sort the room ...we can't do that so we've refunded u ....it was a grad ache I didn't need ...but this has un reassured me in booking with booking. Com again ....on separate note ..room was slightly unstandard ....room bed was ok no complaints shower n bathroom however omg im a big ish guy sorry but shower room i couldn't swing a cat ...one light above the single bed wasn't working ..cups x4 far to small...not enough milk ....the facilitys hour dryer iron ...coffie milk ...had to get out selves from another room stable .....I've been in previous hotels paying similar price where room service was a call away ...location drove up n down 3 times to find it behind a pub ample parking i was in a vav bigger than normal dog friendly although my dog isn't very sociable he's old n likes to b left alone lovely dogs ......the lady was very understanding regarding booking.com n informed me b4 arrival via txt rooms read keys on the bed ...doors open so had somewhere private ti sort booking. Com good place for quick stop yea but not for days on end...
Lovely little place that's gradually being upgraded room by room. We got one of the newly done rooms and it was lovely. Comfy bed, all new decor, new windows and doors and new bathroom, very clean and fresh. We didn't eat here in the evening so can't comment on the food but the breakfasts were very nice.
Lorraine spoke to my dad and agreed to cancel the midweek stay verbally. Agreed to move 1 day to the end of the week as they were full the next day. They agreed verbally that they owed my dad 1 days stay. They now decide when it comes to trying to book the day that was in credit to refuse the stay. there was 1 room available they are claiming that they never said it. The place is really nice but the two faced attitude of Lorraine and her partner who probably wasn’t all there at the time have really upset my parents. Who now have to find somewhere else to stay after driving from Durham down there. Do not stop there they aren’t interested in customer satisfaction and clearly don’t make a record of their agreements. Professional is a word they don’t know the meaning of. They are con artists only interested in money and that is shown by the fact that they don’t deal with the bookings in house they are all factored to other people.
Great for what it is my friend described it as but I think more. Well located for Crewkerne centre with a lovely back field county walk cut through opposite behind the bus stop. Tv was terrible and you need a log in for channels but the shower was described as brilliant. Good job on changing the breakfast arrangements. I thought as first when the inn staff helpfully explained no breakfast. £130 three people in a room. To my surprise we got cereal milk and then later toast.
Negative points. Old style motel. Very thin walls I could hear the fella in the next chalet snoring Shower temperature was broken only got hot-tish despite there being a "caution hot water" sticker on the shower. Hot water came through basin tap so must be shower mechanism. Something was tapping the front wall all night. Basic construction must be suspect. Bed too soft. Place feels like you're staying at your first girlfriends gran and granddad's place. It's all OK when you're 19 or 70 but not for professional people. No soap in the en suite bathroom. I didn't meet the owners but I suspect that although they're very nice, they don't have what it takes to wrench this place into the post covid world. Time to They make a big deal on the website about the free full breakfast. When I texted the brief reply told me that breakfast was unavailable. You have to leave the car to open the gate, go back in the car, drive through, get out the car to close the gate, get back in the car to drive to the carpark. Good points. Wi-Fi worked and was not charged extra. The dogs are adorable. There is a Laundry Room with washer/dryer, crockery and cutlery. These are the places that will go under in a downturn. I'd rather drive the extra hour and get home. Either lower the price and make it a WYSIWYG venture or sell up to a more energetic owner who can make this place work. The dogs are *really* adorable. Maybe if you have pets then this might be the place for you. It was more like a campsite with chalets than a proper hotel. Still, judging by the other reviews, other people found it worked for them. Best of luck turning it around.
Lovely people and I especially loved the dogs extremely well behaved! Rooms were lovely I highly recommendRooms: 4/5
