Seems like the George Hotel under new management  is back on track after a wobbly few months. We had the Sunday carvery and it was lovely, 3 well cooked joints of meat, beautiful crunchy potatoes  nice choice of veg.  The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed a very nice starter of nachos and main course of duck which was cooked perfectly. Very friendly attentive staff. Would recommend.

Stayed for a night, rooms were clean & well presented, recently upgraded, would stay here again, great central location, good nice too.

Keeps changing management. At time of writing food is okay, trying to be a posh restaurant, would prefer pub grub but it was still very nice. Bar staff are nice as well, been ID'd every time I come in even though she knows I'm over 18 for some reason?
