A proper traditional pub with good beer, excellent food and efficient service. There is ample, covered outdoor seating by the riverside. A great view, good sea air and a good atmosphere. There is one drawback, almost inevitably when the place is so popular, parking is an absolute bear. I had to drop the family off at the pub and park in the town centre carpark a mile away, as the pub's own parking is extremely limited and it's residents permits only at that end of the town. Otherwise it would have been five stars.

My family and I have been coming here for years. The pub is sweet and simple - hearty food and busy especially on good weather weekends so recommend booking! It's dog-friendly which is a big bonus for us and the staff are always very accomodating. The usual salads, pies, fish and chips are a solid choice here, but always check the specials board! Prices are a little on the expensive side for 'pub grub' but the portion sizes justify the cost! You'll finish all your food after a nice walk along the sea wall anyway!

Early lunch on a sunny Friday lunchtime with our walking group. A warm welcome followed by good beer and food from the extensive menu. Liver and bacon, gammon, baggettes and jacket potatoes, all well good and presented. Busy by the time we left and the meals coming to other tables looked good too, especially the seafood platter. Booking recommended.
