It's good that the pub allows dogs with their owners. The barn where we sat needs a dressing up I feel. It can be quite depressing and bare although I appreciate it is really for large groups. We were slowed to take our dogs in there today. One of them is quite a vocal dog. The crayfish has way too much paprika on it which gives it a dry taste. There should be choice of white or brown bread .The portions are definitely smaller and the whole menu has shortened and is now more expensive.

The food was very good. I can recommend the trout salad. Go hungry. Large portions.

My husband says to give The Jolly Sailor, 4.1/2 stars x we had a lovely afternoon with good food and polite and helpful staff x what more could you ask for xx thank you xx

Very upset with my visit to the Jolly Sailor yesturday. I had been out training on my motorbike and had unfortunately got caught in some very bad weather. My gloves were soaked through and my fingers were very cold. As I had visited this establishment many times in the past and had enjoyed the food, service and ambience very much I thought I would pop in for a coffee and bite to eat. It was very busy due to it being Mothering Sunday and all the staff seemed attentive and lovely, all except one! A miserable old cow who was very rude to me, she told me it was not OK to leave my gloves on a radiator that was not near to any customers, she told me she would find a suitable place for them and proceeded to dissappear and didn't return. I drank my coffee, decided not to order any food and left cold and very disheartened. Very disappointing indeed.

The food and atmosphere is great. What this place makes it special for me is because of it's staff. Not only are the friendly but in my eyes priceless by signing thank you and goodbye in makaton to my autistic son. Thank you!
