I'm a little disappointed with the old ship, to be honest. Food was a little more than fashionably late. The food wasn't that great either. Really, we left a fair bit and left still hungry. The location is fantastic, especially in the summer. i can imagine it would be lovely. Just improved service time food quality, this place would be a winner.
On a good day weather wise this pub would have lovely sea views. Staff were helpful especially Krystina who catered for our table. Nice pub with good wholesome food including meal deals on specific foods from the menu. Plenty of space and a large car park outside.Food: 5/5
The worst experience I’ve ever had. They are lucky to get one star. They tell you don’t know what you’re ordering. Then when you get stroppy feeling then they should know their menu you are the one in the wrong. This is not a member staff that has been there 5 minutes this is from the general manager. How can he not know his menu.Food: 3/5
Excellent grub. Steak perfectly rare. Great sauce. Great beer. And live music! Great evening thanks!! def coming backFood: 5/5
A loverly place to sit for sitting outside with a beautiful view . But seriously, the service is not good and the food was served cold. One customer had left a note on their plate. The food here is lousy and cold . Wish I'd seen it earlier.Food: 1/5
we were greeted in a friendly way with a smile. The selection of drinks was wide. The menu offered plenty of choice and good value. The vegetarian options were varied, peppered throughout the menu, not just a single token dish tacked on at the bottom of the menu. The food was prepared and served quickly and hot. The quality of the produce was good. The location of the pub on Lee-on-the-Solent seafront is great. The views of the Solent from the wide windows is well appointed and access to the promenade is just across the road. There is an adequate sized car park and, should it be full, street parking available immediately opposite.
Nice chilled beer in the sun with food to follow. Beer was good, but unfortunately, they forgot an ingredient to the burger, which isn't great with the signature burger they have on sale.Food: 3/5
It's a lovely place facing the Solent. What's not to like about it? It's absolutely gorgeous during sunset. We popped in around 5:00pm on a Sunday, so no need to say that the place was still packed. The pub was relatively clean and the staff was very friendly. We were told that there will be some delays when I ordered, but I was more than happy with this. It must have been a hell of a day for the staff and as we were sitting outside, we could enjoy a bit of sunshine on the terrace. Our food came quicker than expected which is great. The quality overall was satisfying especially when you see their prices; very reasonable. I'd go back as soon as I have an opportunity.
Pub food so expect nothing more, food was well cooked but my steak wasn't a good quality so not the chef to blame. Staff efficient and friendly.Food: 3/5
Four of us had breakfast and not one of us enjoyed it. Sausages were awful. Bacon looked grey. And the steak was definitely not rump. Mushrooms were not cooked. Onions were definitely boiled. The only thing we enjoyed were the hash brown tots and the eggs. I have Never had such an awful breakfast. Manager was really nice but chefs can not cook.
