"The Bun Penny occupies a prominent position on the road into Lee on the Solent and is only a short walk from the main street and the beach. Originally a farm house and then a coaching inn, this centuries old building has all the charm and character you would expect from a building of its age. The Bun Penny is now a classic English country pub which benefits from a large patio at the front and an extensive back garden ideal for soaking up the sun whilst in cooler months there are real fires and lots of cosy corners insideWe are particularly proud of our food which is freshly prepared and locally sourced. The menu changes to reflect seasonal availability and there is a Specials Board where we can offer rarer treats."

So we dropped in after a nice bike ride with the Family and what a pleasant surprise, the food was really tasty and service was also great. They have plenty of seating inside and outside is a nice beer garden . If your passing pop in you won’t be disappointed. hope you enjoy the pics x
Tried to get there early to set up for a birthday party but had to wait till 12pm although it said opens at 11am. Service was a bit slow, although it was quite busy. Food was good. But I would have to give a 5 out of 10
I should have taken a picture of our meal as it was delicious, I had 2 slices of pork belly with lovely crackling on the top, it came with bubble and squeak sweet red cabbage and apple sauce. Absolutely yummy ,my husband had scampi and chips which were also great, he said, great chips with it. The beer was good, we had a pint of Tribute. We will be back.
Nice location, walking distance fron Lee seafront. Stopped off for a Sunday evening drink...care closes at 9.Sundays....but nice enough interior and friendly staff. Only criticism is with number of canines present, felt - or at least sounded like - backstage at Krufts Otherwise recommend
Great meal, the staff were very friendly and a nice, pub/restaurant atmosphere. We had a dog with us and he was also made to feel welcome with a water bowl and treats which he enjoyed Highly recommended.
The pub was very busy. We were ignored waiting to be shown our table. As first timers we didn't know the procedure to order drinks and food. I had to go to the bar to ask for someone to take our order. Our food arrived over one-hour after we had arrived. The food was good and overall good value but very poor service.
The food here was very tasty with a wide variety of options from classic pub food to something a bit more refined. The staff were helpful and attentive and the atmosphere was really pleasant. A very rustic feeling pub with a modern pub attitude. I'm vegan and they had multiple options for me to chose from across all three courses of the menu. The baby changing facilities were located in the disabled toilet meaning I was able to change our baby, rather than my wife having to as in many other local pubs they are located in the Women's restroom.
The best pub food in Lee. A massive historic pub mind your head on the beams, good selection of drinks and very helpful and friendly staff. My only gripe is when it isn't open and I want a pint!
Only one vegan main and geuss what it's a curry. Only thing someone living a compassionate life can have is a curry or a burger with chilly mayo or no mayo. That's if the mayo is even vegan. Not much for people with allergies either. Both veganism and allergies have existed since the beginning of time.
I'm on keto, they do a nice omelette, and they swapped my chips for salad no probs. Salad was a little small.
