Lots of parking space, easy to find and get to. Front door made me think it looks a bit tatty.nnInside or was reasonably clean, friendly, well laid, well lit. Staff very friendly and helpful, A*.nnWe got veggie burger, carvery and kids pizza. Dessert we got apple pie and bottomless ice cream.nnThe food took quite a while to arrive... Maybe 30 minutes?? It felt like a long time. I did overhear that the kitchen staff were struggling a bit.nnCarvery was reported as a good standard.nKids pizza looked a bit grim. Kind of floppy. No reasonable taste description as my son is a faddy eater anyway.nVeggie burger was small, uninspiring and didn't taste great. The bread was too small for the burger. Chips looked and tasted good.nnApple pie was good. Ice cream was on par. Machine kept needing refilling but staff were on it. I imagine they're expensive to run and they don't want to put too much in it.nMakes sense and didn't inconvenience us.nnGents toilets were clean but cold. Not an issue. No hot tap water. No big deal.nnAll in all not bad. Probably wouldn't go again but that's partly because it's not nearby. Veggie burger WAS grim. I think they should maybe just change they burger, do a bit of research. Pizza would look better if it was a bit firmer underneath. Could probably get away with making kids pizza smaller but better quality and maybe decorate it with some side salad? No slight on anyone, I'm sure everyone is trying their bestnnStaff were flawless. Just normal, decent, folk who tried to do a good job.
Marcus served us up a great take away breakfast today. Took it for 2 others and they said best full English they'd had in a long time. Fresh eggs and fried bread went on top
We visit Old Mother Redcap weekly. The fish and chips are really good. The burgers and carvery are lovely too. The staff are really friendly and will do anything to help. We usually visit at lunchtime. There is low music playing in the background and there's a friendly atmosphere. I would recommend coming here, we have also had birthdays, mothers day and fathers day celebrations.
Staff were rude and nonchalant when asked how long it would be until food was brought out from the kitchen. It was served in dribs and drabs. We had to go back and que several times to get a full breakfast. The black pudding was horrible, thin slices, and rock hard . The prices were good but I can't recommend this place .

Hubby took us there today for breakfastnWell never againnHad to wait for eggs,bacon,hash browns so 2 x breakfast baps were latenTable wasn't cleared for usnSeems to be short staff but saying that the staff that were there were lovely girlsnBut the most annoying thing is that my partner is disabled and needed the toilet badly only to see this when opening the door see photos made them sick, and it stunk,came out and no staff around to tell themnIt was descusting. So couldn't go so soiled themselvesnSo no returnnAlso sister felt bad for taking usnAnd toilets not being checked regularly !!!
