Very disappointing. Been here many times before and has been lovely. However, we were a party of 12 today and it was all dreadful - from the service to the food. Waited 1.5 hrs to be served our dinner and the meat was awful. No one asking if it was ok either. The puddings had been over microwaved making them tough and chewy! There for 3 hours for a Sunday dinner and all we got was back ache. Will we return - I doubt it.

I had an amazing roast dinner last Sunday. Excellent food and the staff couldn't do enough . Will definitely tell my friends and return again. 10 out of 10.

We, our extended family, stayed at the Old Lodge for 3 nights over Christmas. We simply wanted a quiet, clean place to stay where we could relax and enjoy ourselves. We found it more than matched our expectations. Mike and Katie, our hosts, could not do enough for us. The staff were attentive and industrious. We were very pleased indeed that we chose the Old Lodge this Christmas.

Visited for Valentine's evening and disappointed. Ran out of starters and had to opt for 2nd choice, tomato soup. Main course ordered fillet steak which was told would be cooked medium rare due to other ingredients spoiling, this did not appeal and not liking any other of the main 3 courses, was told that a normal steak would arrive instead of lamb, this never materialised. Had lamb delivered to table, they forgot about steak. Had to remind staff about the champagne sorbet after main course which also had never arrived after the starters! Had to remind staff about coffee and after delivery was very disappointed with taste/flavour. Staff keen to please and delightful, but overall disappointing and somewhat ruined our evening! 😕

Excellent T-bone steak but slightly salty. We ordered 4 meals, including a 16oz T-bone, a rack of lamb and beef wellington. They were all cooked perfectly and were nicely presented. The T-bone steak was very tasty with a lot of flavour. However they were a bit salty. Otherwise they would have been perfect.
