Went here for a quick drink in the bar about lunch time after a walk through the park. I had a rose wine and my sister had a cider. Nice, friendly staff and we were served fairly quickly. The place generally could do with a new coat of paint and the furnishings here need to be brightened up a bit, otherwise a pleasant visit and hopefully we will return.

Not what it used to be. The place is a bit run down and getting a bit frayed around the edges. The food is passable but could do with improvements. For example: You're paying a lot for a prawn cocktail which basically amounts to a small dollop of fridgey prawns with sauce squirted on top and two small triangles of buttered brown bread. Roast dinner was ok but had better elsewhere and probably paid the same if not less. But the staff are friendly and engaged and it has a nice atmosphere and normally quite a popular place by the amount of people i see there.

Brilliant! Like the haunted mansion at Disneyland! This place is stuck in a cobwebbed time warp from the 1970s. Like the Hotel California, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. Thoroughly enjoyable.

New year party 2018 what a fantastic night, the staff were brilliant very busy the chef was outstanding all the food was served hot and fresh. The room was fantastic John and his staff really made everyone welcome.The venue is tired but the character of the hotel is very nice. The drinks prices are very good for a hotel.Thank you for a great night we will be definitely be back.

The bar staff were excellent, very polite and efficient. Service was fast. The serving staff were diligent and polite. A lovely location, well worth a visit.
