Great service, even on a busy Sunday. Lovely food and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly, happy and helpful. The food came promptly with no mistakes, so it was hot, everyone enjoyed it and was happy. We had small children and the staff were so helpful to cater to our needs. The surroundings and decor are cosy and in character with the pub and name. I will go back.

We love it here. Its a traditional atmosphere and nice food. We can't fault it. Nice location too.

Have dined here several times in the past year and been very happy with the food. But this Sunday evening, rather than say my ordered item was not available, the chef tried to cover it up. My mixed leaf salad was chopped iceberg covered by a layer of out of date leaves that were clearly rotting and slimy. I put them to one side on my plate and pointed out to the waitress that the chef should not be sending food out like that. The leaves looked like they'd been pulled from the waste bin. She grabbed the leaves and took them to the kitchen. No apology, no replacement, no substitution. Disappointed.

Excellent food, well presented. I had the roast salmon on green beans and New potatoes. Generous portions and perfectly cooked. Ambiance was warm and friendly. The roaring fire was a welcome addition on a cold December night. Service matched the quality of our food.
