Beautiful hotel, safe and quiet, easy to walk to the city Ipswich mall, River Link shopping centre, Coffee club, near the train station to go to Brisbane walking around the River for an exercise, awesome hot spa bath and Sauna not to mention there's Gym as well as a nice kitchen and laundry facilities in the apartment everyone are welcome my favourite with love and GBU always
Booked a flexible rate which allowed cancellation by 2pm day prior. Rang at 4.30pm today after experiencing car troubles on drive from Canberra to Ipswich - at this stage it is unclear if we will arrive for booking tomorrow. Asked for some flexibility in cancelling the booking - no way they say! We could move booking to following night Wednesday for additional surcharge but if we don’t arrive, we will be charged regardless! This attitude shows extremely poor customer service. So disappointed, we are regular travellers in both Oaks and other accommodation chains. In addition, it is school holidays so you would think the room will be in demand anyway. We will never stay again at Oaks given the unreasonable treatment just received. Be wary of booking with them!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. aside from the trains passing by throughout the night and keeping us awake, we were charged $152.00 after we had left the property. I called to ask what the charge was and we were told that we lost a key? while I explain to the receptionist that i returned the key on checkout, no refund was provided and we are still fighting for the refund if this charge. AVOID THIS PLACE, it’s clear a scam they are running to top up the hotels revenue. Very unhappy we will not be returning.
Very nice room, good view of Ipswich and fantastic customer service. Our 13 year old LOVED the poolRooms: 5/5
Great spot, bed is super comfy, pool and sauna are fantastic, trains can be a little noisy but not terrible.Rooms: 5/5
Apologies for the length of my review in advance. The location is good close to transport, Riverlink, the staff are friendly and helpful, however the cleanliness and amenities require some reconsideration. I've highlighted areas of concern below. Cleanliness: There's no way to sugarcoat this... the bathroom was outdated and had visible mould so much for the Oaks Sure Stay reassurances of a deep clean. Furthermore, we slept in unclean bed sheets that were too small for the bed provided they fit... just. If you don't mind sleeping in sheets of questionable conditions and are traveling solo, then this place should do. For a company that advertised their cleanliness standard, it was obviously lacking. Regarding food preparation areas, they don't provide dish soap so you can't clean items as you go, so you're stuck relying on the dishwasher though you'll probably be running it half full because there aren't a lot of utensils. Additionally, they don't clean bbqs located in shared spaces that were used after a weekend or check if they're still functioning as one didn't turn on at all. That Sure Stay is coming through. The Oaks welcome pamphlets left in the rooms next to the cook top are covered in oil stains, which once again don't bode well for the Oaks cleanliness mentioned on their website and in lifts. We're in a pandemic and you're advertising a deep clean but there was no evidence of this during our stay. Technology: any form of technology looks like it came from last century washing machine, dryer, TV, down to the wifi speed. If you're coming for a short trip and hoping to explore Brisbane, it won't matter too much if you can get past the bed sheet thing and don't mind old washing machine and dryers destroying your clothes, but if you're here for work, then you might not be able to wind down if you're watching Foxtel or regular TV can't cast anything from your phone onto it or connect your laptop because they hadn't quite discovered the HDMI cable/PC connection yet. That's not even getting into how slow the wifi is why advertise it if you're not going to keep it up to date to allow for modern day wifi usage? What's the point if you can't even stream anything? Room build: the walls were so thin that you could hear whole conversations at midnight, 4am, 6am, you know... the optimal times?. With the way the apartment we stayed in were designed, you will be sharing some amenities with another room, which can lead to surprises in your washing/dryer load. I understand Oaks has no control over how their guests behave, however this is a risk that should be considered if you'll be staying and sharing the washing machine and dryer with others. I feel they should also advertise that you'll be sharing these amenities when booking, as I'd rather not have someone go poking through our clothes in the dryer and leaving surprises and taking items. Rooms come with an insinkerator waste disposal and you can use it... but it's as loud as a jackhammer I wish I was joking and apologise to anyone who had to hear us test it out. And bathrooms... well, in the rooms we stayed at, the bathroom ventilation was definitely connected, so you know when someone else is doing their business next door. Overall, the shared amenities for general use are nice provided they're functioning, the location is great and the staff are friendly, professional and helpful. If you're looking for a place but aren't planning on staying in your room much or long at all, then this would probably be suitable if you're flying solo. However, if you're in Ipswich for work/seminar and planning on being a hermit given the global situation this might not be the best option for you.
We stayed at Oaks because other friends were staying there for a nearby function. I’d love to give more stars based on the customer service by the team which was professional and friendly and the comfortable king bed. The rating is a reflection of the mould found on the sheer and blockout curtains, and also the poor air conditioning. If these were properly cleaned/replaced and fixed, I’d be giving a 4 star review. Otherwise, a handy location, comfy bed and friendly staff.
Myself and my partner had recently booked a two night stay. When we had checked in at 10pm, the reception staff were kind and welcoming. Once entering the room, we were both disappointed. The room did not look like the pictures advertised, the room was dirty dirty finger prints on the light switches, the chairs in kitchen area and the kitchen benches I immediately started cleaning the whole room so we felt more comfortable. When we woke up in the morning, we found that the fridge had leaked all over the kitchen floor. Myself and my partner both decided to look for another place to stay as we did not feel comfortable at all. We went down to reception to check out early and all we were told was we would not get a refund for the second night. Very disappointed.
Only just passable. Location was great for us to attend a function near by. Suite was spacious but cleaning and servicing the suites need improvement. There was hair on the made up bed and hair in the bath. Condiments items need to be replenished between guests. 1 teabag for 2 people for the stay is definitely insufficient. No instructions on how to work the tv or controls. In my opinion this was overpriced for what we got.
Place looks nice from far but is far from nice. Everything is dirty or broken. Washing machine made clothes dirtier than when they went in. The iron put rust stains on my brand new work shirt. Would highly recommend avoiding this one. Car park is also a pain to get into and out of in anything bigger than a corolla.
