"The Northcote is the perfect place for late night drinkers, daytime brunchers, business VIPs, and sports fans alike – there's plenty of booze to go around. Kick back in our cosy Common Room or grab a table in our main bar – pub grub is just an order away."
A fine, gentle unassuming offering from Young's. The Northcote in Battersea is a little quirky, of the shabby chic genre. The beer is plentiful and varied. Only one cask ale on today though at least as far as I could see. A modest but appealing selection on the menu, wholly appropriate for the place. A most enjoyable drink was had.
Great Pub with nice staff, very clean and overpriced food. 1- £15 for a burger without chips and "super-overwelldone" is not acceptable. 2- £5 for a small portion of chips? Really? £5? The beer was cold and fresh and I like the fact there were a few local breweries. Thank you for supporting local! Total for my humbled lunch meal for one. £26.75 One burger, a small portion of chips and a lager.
What a great night I had at this pub. I reserved a table for myself and 5 friends last Sunday. The reservation process was so easy and interactions with the manager I think her name is Katie we’re so helpful. The night itself was so great and all the staff especially Maddie and Kristen were so helpful. They looked after us all night. Would recommend this pub to any one!!!
This is an absolutely fabulous pub in the heart of clapham junction! I would recommend this pub to everyone ranging from the drink variety, friendliness of staff, the food and the atmosphere. Shoutout to the manager Katie who really took care of us and helped us out on a really busy night. Definitely will be back:
I have had excellent experience of the pub until today. I brought a friend here for the first time. The pub was cold, the service was poor because there were too few staff; and worst of all we were waiting 25 minutes for our food only to be told- on my prompting- that there was a problem in the kitchen and food would be delayed by another 15 minutes: when it arrived it was indelible. I got a measly 25% discount. I will not be eating there again. I will be spreading the news
Love this pub, been coming for years and it’s always great! We had our friends Christmas meal here recently and Sable was our waitress. She was absolutely great and really made out night, 10/10!!!
Sunday Roast! Booked a table for two to try the Sunday roast for the first time, we were welcomed by a cheerful member of the staff as a nice start... We were seated on the first floor, very nice and quiet location. The food we ordered was amazing, we had two roast combination it seems big but worth of it, water and triple cooked chips... delicious! They are fast as well, I suggest to to order maybe trough their app! What can I say, the staff is helpful and always smiling making you feel welcomed! Definitely we'll come back!
As an American, their classic burger was the best I've had in my UK/Europe travels so far. Insanely thick, juicy, and well balanced, this is the perfect stop for a big ol burger!!
The deadest wings I had in my life. £8.50 for 4 dry overcooked wings.
We had a gathering of 11 in the upstairs common room at the Northcote last night and we cannot fault their service. Firstly we were delighted to be offered the room having initially requested two tables big enough to accommodate our party, so the space alone was a bonus. We were a mixed bunch including four teenagers, frequently adding to our tab with a few bespoke requests. All of which didn’t trouble our host in the slightest. Orders were quickly entered and delivered to our table. The food and drink were all exquisite, and clean plates were returned every time. Special mention for the sausage and mash, chicken Katsu burgers, hot dogs and curly fries. Ditto the desserts and cocktails. And when the bill arrived I was surprised that we’d all eaten and drank incredibly well over the course of three hours for around £30 a head. Excellent value. And a special mention for Maisie our host who was a model of calm, cheerful professionalism throughout the evening. Endlessly accommodating of our requests, happy to make a fuss of our cockapoo and especially sweet and patient to one of our party with learning difficulties. For the latter in particular we were incredibly grateful. We were visiting from out of town, so sadly we’ll never be Northcote regulars. But if we ever find ourselves hungry and thirsty in Clapham again we know where we’ll be heading. Thanks for wonderful evening.
