The Oak Steakhouse & Grill

First time coming here a couple of weeks ago after family members had said the food was good. Good points are a wide variety of dessert and cakes are available and a good spread of main meals. Coffee excellent. So highly recommend coffee and cake here. Now I found the service to be very slow and not very attentive. All started with the orders when my partner requested no tomatoes on her dish. Her dish arrived and it was covered with tomatoes. The food I found to be very average considering the premium prices you pay in there. We all finished our main meals and only just over half of the plates got cleared. We was then given the dessert menu and by this point in the afternoon lots of staff on and no where near as busy as to when we first walked in but still the rest of the plates wasn't cleared. Yet they took the empty glasses? We had dessert and another round of drinks just to see if everything else would get cleared but it didn't. We had a chat and probably a further 15 minutes later when then was waiting for the bill which was not forthcoming so probably could have just walked out. So we had to go to the bar to get the bill. Only reason this is a negative is because every other table had there bill brought to them and we didn't. I certainly don't think we shall be returning. Staff need a lot of training on service.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch can recommend the Spanish Hash and iced coffee outside in the garden area today. Very helpful, friendly and attentive server, thank you for bringing my dog some water and for making us feel welcome. Dogs are also allowed inside. Will definitely drop by again, when in the area, I need to try some cake next time!! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available Parking: Lots of car parking spaces

Excellent food and service. All the staff were friendly, very helpful and attentive. Accommodation was clean, quiet and warm. Down side, breakfast is at 0900, so any one having to leave early would miss this.Food: 5/5

Just back from their New Years Eve party. Absolutely brill night with you and the team last night. Food was amazing and the party and company fantastic. Booked on steak night, table booked for 5:30 so they kindly reminded us of the saving when the order was being placed so we saved money, which was kind. Plus we took a bottle away with us. Service was a little slow but it had started to get busier. Staff friendly.Food: 4/5

Unfortunately my rib eye steak was very chewy and under done. The brisket had an odd taste and smoked salmon starter lacked a citrus element. The service was great as was the atmosphere and the drinks were fine, especially the strawberry daiquiri. Sorry about the food.Food: 3/5

Pretty good I thought. Staff were very helpful and the food quality was good and reasonably priced. Needed a few more non steak or burger options that were not sold out but we very much enjoyed our meal and would recommend. The cafe looked exceptional with super cakes so will definitely try that next time.

Good food but not a wide range and as a vegetarian not a lot of choice. They had ran out of Sunday lunch so had the risotto and my partner had the chicken with mushrooms .Puddings excellent and well presented and a wide range of ales and lagers. Staff lovely

what a a fab place, the steaks were perfect served on time and with a great atmosphere an all round fab place !

We stayed overnight in our motorhome,enjoyed a wonderful meal attended by fabulous and hospitable staff. It actually deserves another star. Very well done
