THE RITZ USES THEIR WONDERFUL BALLROOM FOR NORTHERN SOUL ONCE A MONTH! ALL THE BALLROOM AND SEQUENCE DANCES HAVE VANISHED. USUALLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT IS BECAUSE THE OWNERS WANT TO SELL IT FOR DEVELOPMENT. THEY ARE  MORE LIKELY TO GET APPROVAL IF THERE IS NOTHING GOING ON THERE.  NO COMMUNITY REASON FOR IT. THE COUNCIL WILL THEN SEE THAT THERE IS NO COMMUNITY VALUE,  SO BUILD FLATS ON IT INSTEAD.

MR Tim Upton wants to get his facts right before he makes idiotic public statements , there is no ballroom at VENUE:73 because it is economically not viable, and has been subsidised by other events for years and has been threatened to cease for at least 6 years , i suggest Mr Upton and his ballroom fraternity should have put more effort into supporting the venue

I came over from Leeds tonight but could nt get there for the classes ...arrived about 9.10 pm told by Graham that it would be £ 5 from 9.30 ..I said I would not be doing the class so would wait  and instead of just saying ok go in he motioned to wait outside ...I elected to wait in the porch area ....after 15 minutes Graham informed me that I would have to pay £7 if I wanted to come ... I said thanks for making me wait 15 minutes before telling me ..he said management had just made the decision .... I have to say its a pretty poor way to treat what was a valued customer who has given up many hours previous and some recently in assisting with teaching beginners .... I am pretty disappointed at being treated this way and on principle I will not be going out of my way to call in to the Ritz anytime soon ...

Now management may do what they wish ...however I can guarantee that treating customers in this way will not endear your business ... it was not the fact that I would have had to pay full £7 for less than an hours dancing it was the customer interaction that sadly lets the New Ritz down ....
