Played on the 15th September 2016, greens like marble, fairways a joy to play off, tees and everything else fantastic. This is one of the best 9 hole courses I have ever played, wonderful uncluttered lay out making the most of stunning trees and rolling ground. Alternative tees for the back 9 change the lines off the tees and reward straight driving. Accuracy is the key to playing around this course. The 1st hole, a very gentle opener and a walk to the 2nd tee leads to 8 outstanding golf holes that are a delight to look at and to play. I arranged a celebration birthday meal for my husband's 70th birthday with family consisting 10 adults and 3 children. 15 months ago and only now found the opportunity to say it was the worst experience 'mealwise' I have ever encountered. I had arranged weeks in advance and when it came to the special day we were greeted with a couple of inexperienced teenagers who looked completely lost as if we weren't expected. We had to order from the ' budget' menu as this place had run out of certain foods, steak being one of them.my son in law was presented with muscles which were decidedly OFF. The chef apologised and went to replace them but returned looking very sheepish saying the rest of them were also not fit to eat. From there on the whole meal was a shambles and no one to complain to was available. ''We have run out of this and only two of that '' was the only answer I got. This was only 6pm not midnight! As most of us were drivers we couldn't even drown our sorrows sufficiently.The bill came to around £500 and I was so upset and angry I foolishly paid it. My husband's day was spoiled enough and all the preparation and anticipation fell completely flat. I rang a couple of times the following day and again no one was available to vent my spleen on . I had made it quite clear it was a special occasion so how we ended up on a paltry budget menu I don't know. I put it down to one very unpleasant experience at this venue and rate it as terrible.
