While we were at Leadenhall Market on a Friday evening, we were looking for a place to have some food and drinks. So, we went to the cellar bar of New Moon! What a surprise and a gem! Really good food, really nice staff, good beers and an amazing atmosphere. If you are at Leadenhall Market, find this place and go there!Food: 5/5
Sitting in the leadenhall market, this little gem is unassuming and yet its presence is undeniable. Great, friendly staff, reasonably priced and with that classic old London pub feel. Loved it.Food: 4/5
Came to the brasserie upstairs during lunch break to celebrate a colleague's birthday. The food took a while to arrive but it was tasty and there was a lot of it. We had the pie really juicy and beautifully presented and mash could have done with more mash and the schnitzel and fries both were big. We also ordered the Mac and cheese as a starter to share but weren't too impressed. We had a 50% discount but the bill would have been a bit on the pricey side without it.
Traditional pub. In leadenhall market. Worth a visit for the history. Goodcrange of beers.Service: 5/5
Delicious and rather exciting food. It was so welcome to have something a bit different. I had oyster mushrooms that had been made to taste like bacon. This was followed by a rabbit pie, which made a lovely change. Service was goodFood: 5/5
London is unique in boasting city pubs, the like of which you can not find anywhere else in the world. I must say that I miss those days when they were packed out at lunchtime and early evening with city bankers and their bolwer hats of the 70's. Fortunately, many survive to explore to soak up the atmosphere and to reminisce around bygone days. The New Moon is one such treat. Located on one corner of the stunning Leadenhall Market and Gracechurch Street, the New Moon is one such venue. I absolutely love the Cellar Bar. It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the staff are fantastically welcoming. Often, it is a real haven when the upstairs gets busy. There is a great range of beverages to enjoy whilst immersing yourself in a genuine London City pub. There are Sports screens for those who require such entertainment, but I am just content to relax in comfortable surroundings and count myself lucky that I am a Londoner. If you are interested in London pubs, then I would urge you to pay this one a visit. I only hope that it will be preserved for future generations.
We popped in at early evening on a weekday. The place was definitely popular! Lots of folks getting post-work drinks. They have some outdoor seating, limited indoor seating and an upstairs although we did not go upstairs. The food selection seems to be larger upstairs. We only popped by for a quick drink before going on our way. The service was good for how busy it was. We still didn't wait long before getting our drinks. They have a nice selection of beers and some ciders. Would definitely recommend for a quick drink!
We had our work Christmas meal here 2023 and the quality, portions, care, decorations were all top notch! Food: 5/5
It is a beautiful little Pub where you can enjoy amazing beers. The TV is always on and you can watch the most important sport events. I really enjoyed my visit. The barkeepers are very friendly.Food: 5/5
Apparently Harry Potter was filmed here. Very nice pub. Lots of people all having a pint or two or three. We ordered a couple of pints from the nice selection. Struck up conversation with locals. I say check it out.
