Update 2023 went on a Friday night & think they were a bit short of staff and supplies as it seemed like they left our steaks under the heat lamp a bit long. My dad's was dry and mine was very gristely they did give me a free drink for the gristly meat by way of apology. Tasted good though thankfully. They also skipped the meringue entirely from our Eton messes. Go somewhere else if you want great food but here if you're not fussy and want something reasonably priced with a nice drink. Sadly only one or two ales on draught. Was a bit noisy with some folks carrying out an impromptu karaoke and there being a football match on but that's to be expected lolnnPrevious time we went in the summer: Food was generally very good, although the dirty fries were actually dirty, the rather past it garnish had a paper label attached!nnWe also ordered two dressed salads which for some reason took a long time to arrive. We'd almost given up hope. When they did arrive they came naked no dressing and no apology or explanation was given at the time, let alone warning us earlier they'd run out of dressing.nnAlso our waiter forgot to provide is cutlery to eat the salads with which is pretty unhelpful.nnOverall would visit again, but would reserve giving a tip next time until they demonstrate that there are competent.

My fiance and i called in to celebrate the anniversary of our engagement,the food was delicious and the service was excellent,we've been the Moorland on a number of occasions,I think if you're eating it's better to reserve a table in peak hours as it can get busy,apart from that 5 stars

Have eaten at the Moorland Inn on several occasions with family and friends.  A lovely place with a good atmosphere and great food.  Highly recommended :

Booked a table for 2 for a meal and drinks,  on arrival we were told that we had a table right by a brick pillar in direct line with the door which was open and the draught was awful.  I had to ask for the table to be cleaned as it was filthy,  there was no menus and everything on the table felt sticky so we walked out never to return.  It seems that every time we book a table for 2 we are shoved in a corner, not acceptable.

I visit the moorland often for food and the occasional drink after work, sometimes with company and sometimes alone. As a woman on her own I always feel very safe and comfortable here and would highly recommend. Great food and excellent value for money and my children also love to visit. The staff are fantastic especially Natalie who always has a smile and time for a natter.
