Amazing setting this pub is down on the canal side with stunning views over the canal boats moored up and the old mill buildings all around. The pub has a great atmosphere inside. Typical pub menu food wise. More stodgy selection than healthy. But a great place with good surroundings and friendly helpful staff.
A really nice lunchtime dining experience. Tasty meal, cooked to perfection, piping hot, generous portion size, very friendly service & a reasonable price. Had a nice table, by a window looking out onto the canal & canal boats. Definitely recommend a visit if in the area.
First time at Moorings. First impressions - nice set up,very cosy. The available to watch Sport. Drinks - Old mout Cider served with Berries nice presentation Corona on Draught - quite disappointed with...served flat not the best. Food - as you can see on the pictures nice presentation...tub full of variety of sauces. Starter - Garlic Mushroom nice but not the best I've had Sauce quite sweet bit glumpy. Mains - Steak Fajitas... Good quality meat spice of peppers & Onions very nice. Lasagne quite dry...tasted like it might of been microwaved bit to long. OK taste. £1 extra for scoop of Chips. Staff - lady behind the bar quite abrupt. Felt like she was rushing me for my order and just very forward. Not the best Customer service. Man behind the bar quite polite, felt like he might of been the owner or manager as he was cleaning tables and making sure everything was OK. Very nice bathrooms very well looked after. In total 3* Would go again.
we arrived 2pm for late lunch on Thursday, we ordered mixed grills, fish and chips, steak pie. the mix grill was value for money, plenty of salad wirh mixed grill. steak pie was good. the fish and chips was just OK. Staff were friendly.
Really nice quiet pub, great on a sunny day with a solid view of the canal but ran out of espresso martini on tap.
Visited for Sunday afternoon meal which is normally good value. However on this visit the waitress was indifferent and unwelcoming. Took our meal to wrong table having obviously not looked at the table number. We were able to attract her attention and the meal was brought to us. A word of apology or a little humour would have been appreciated. But no such effort was made by the young woman.
Bar with food. Right on the canal basin in Sowerby Bridge. Has plenty of windows to take advantage of the views. Beers are standard fare from the big brewery guys. Well kept and served by helpful staff. The food is pretty much standard pub grub. Again it's done to a good standard and is well priced. Worth a visit.
Good beer, dog friendly, great location by the canal basin. Staff great.
Nice food, pleasant staff and sells a good range of beers and spirits. Have been plenty of times and will more than likely go again in the future when visiting Sowerby Bridge.
Excellent service and excellent staff. Good mix on the menu. Ordered the 8 oz steak, cooked perfectly to order, highly recommend. Just remember to book in advance.
