Nipped in for the obligatory pint while checking out the area house hunting. Lovely pub with friendly staff and test food was tasty. Only had a garlic bread but it was very tasty, we have eaten here before and remember it also being good. Not much in the way of cask ales just 2 but love lane was also on and tasty as always. Nice outdoor area if the sun is out

Paul and his team have created a proper pub. Great ambience, great chef and friendly staff. Had the fillet steak which was delicious and good value and couldn't fault any aspect of the meal. Sunday lunch apparently also great. We'll worth a visit. Parking: Decent size rear car park

The first time for Sunday Lunch since Paul has taken over, loads of food and the beef was outstanding. Paul has put together a great team, nothing is too much trouble. Dog friendly place - great atmosphere and would recommend it come for food and beers.

This was second visit. My first was for sandwich and soup. Everything was lovely, and it was great to have a choice of chips, salad or soup with a sandwich. The soup is homemade and very hearty. We had a couple of drinks each and shared a very nice cheesecake with a twist. This time I went for the cheeseburger and they very kindly allowed me to swop the Fries for soup again. Again I was not disappointed. The burger was huge and very tasty aswell. The club sandwich my partner had was proper grilled chicken breast and was delicious. The staff were relaxed and friendly. Couldn't fault them. Will definitely be back.

Went for Sunday lunch after a recommendation and was not disappointed. Food was excellent and service was quick and efficient. We had a view of the kitchen and it was fascinating watching the staff work so calmly. Will be going again.Food: 5/5

Four of us had lovely dinner last Thursday. I had a mushroom soup to start with, steak pie with mashed and veggies for mains and an espresso martini to finish. My friends had steaks which looked really good.

We booked for Sunday lunch, large party of 12 adults and 3 children. All adults, but me, wanted the carvery. Last time we went on a Sunday I had the 7oz steak. This wasnt on the menu today, but I asked if there was a possibility of a steak, and they accommodated me. Perfect. Thank you

Had a fantastic roast beef Sunday lunch. This came with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and 7 veg. A gorgeous dinner we will be checking out the Xmas Dinner menu. Thanks

Really friendly staff, and the food was really good, i had montgomerys famous triple sandwich, the saltiness of bacon and sweetness of the tomato played well with the moist chicken. Really impressed

Friendly staff, bright, nice interior, menu has interesting selection including some good vegetarian and vegan choices. My poached eggs were hard-done unfortunately, but everything else was great.
