A nice little restaurant in the heart of Weymouth. Called Monkey Fist name of a knot all the food uses the name Fist..Cod Fist, Lamb Fist, Beef Fist...but don't expect something fancy, it's basically what you ordered on a variety bases such as mash potato or vegetables depending on what you ordered . The food is very nice, averaging about £17 for a main. The entrees, about £8 each, were also very nice but very small servings the tomatoes and buffalo only had a quarter of a tomato and a couple pieces of buffalo Saying that...good and friendly service, nice ambiece and delicious.
Excellent food very intimate and quiet great place for friends or couples. Very very friendly staff. Very enjoyable evening. Went with two friends who both said we would definitely go again.
Response TO THE MANAGER Just moved to Weymouth from London and wanted to enjoy the day. The fish was dry and the Mussels and king prawns were reheated. The potatoes in the salad was old reused reheated. We complained to the waiter about how dissapointed we was regarding the lack of freshnes of the food. The bread was a bloomer sliced and hard. The waiter said that the manager Rino was Comming to speak to us. We waited over an hour . We ate the food because my husband was hungry and didn't want a fuss. The finshed plates stayed with us for over 40 min. We was not ask to see the dessert menu and we felt ignored because we complained. Very very dissapoited Please avoid this place if your looking for fresh ingredients and be prepared. RESPONSE TO THE MONKEY FIST. UNFORTUNATELY YOU HAVE SHOWN ONCE AGAIN YOUR UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER IN YOUR RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW. THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE .. I REPEAT "MY EXPERIENCE" OF THE FRESHNESS OF THE FISH SERVED TO US. THE ADVANTAGE OF 20 YEARS WORKING IN RESTAURANTS IS THAT I KNOW WHEN FISH HAS BEEN REHEATED AND WHEN POTATOES ARE A DAY OLD FROM BEING COOKED . THE FOOD WAS EDABLE TO EAT BUT WAS NOT FRESH.. THE ONLY THING I AGREE WITH YOUR RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW IS "WE SHOULD HAVE RETURNED THE FOOD." BUT MY HUSBAND NEEDED TO BRAKE HIS FAST AND HE NEEDED TO EAT. WE UNFORTUNATELY ARE NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE HAPPENED TO EXPRESS THE SAME EXPERIENCE . AS LOCAL RESIDENTS OF WEYMOUTH AND NOT TOURIST WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
What a find, On entry to this small restaurant you are immediately greeted by a waitress Once seated you take in the decor, nautical and very tasteful The kitchen is open plan so you can see your meal being prepared The menu was largely seafood and loads to appeal, we were a party of 4 everybody having something different, all commented on how tasty their meal The owner and chef was so friendly and mentioned all seafood was locally caught A great place and one for revisits
Absolutely excellent in every way. Service, ambience, menu choice, quality of food, cooked to perfection, love it here. Definitely going again.
