Just had a wonderful roast beef dinner. Generous portion of quality beef topside. Super selection of fresh veg red cabbage, roast carrot & parsnip, peas & leeks potatoes and enormous Yorkshire pudding.
3.5/5 – Lovely location, mixed service, still worth a visitnnWe visited The Ship Inn during a family trip to Weymouth and had a mostly positive experience, with a few bumps worth noting.nnPros:nnThe location is fantastic, right on the harbour.nnDecor and vibe were lovely: classic coastal pub charm.nnThe menu had a good variety, and overall the food was decent value for a popular seaside town.nnBig plus: they accept Blue Light Card emergency service discounts, which is always appreciated!nnMy brother declared his fish and chips the best he’s ever had!nnCons:nnUnfortunately, we experienced a 45-minute delay for our food with no heads-up when ordering. A simple “just to let you know there’s a bit of a wait” would’ve made a world of difference.nn2 out of 4 meals arrived with cold chips, which likely sat out a while.nnThe team were clearly overrun and doing their best, but it did feel a little chaotic when we arrived.nnAll that said, I wouldn’t write this place off. The food itself has potential, and the staff were friendly despite the pressure. I’d definitely give it another try, perhaps at a quieter time.
Disappointing dining experience here. Atmosphere is nice, staff are pleasant and selection of beers and ales are good.nnIt was Sunday so we ordered Roast dinners but were told they had paused the Roasts. So ordered fish pie to be told this wasn’t available. Finally settled for burgers.nnThe burger I had was incredibly disappointing. Despite a previous review from another customer, nothing has been learnt. The burger was small in size, burnt patties and barely any burger sauce. The chips tasted like they’d been oven cooked and lacked seasoning.nnFor £16 this was a complete rip off.
I checked google reviews to check where to go and decided to enter the Ship Inn! Right decision! When in the UK i need to eat fish and chips which were delicious! The staff is great, they let me try a few local beers before i decided which one i will have! The restaurant is very cosy! I can definitely reccommend the restaurant.
The food and atmosphere is incredible, was looking for the perfect English cuisine and atmosphere and food all i could want and more here.
