Great service from the guy who was our waiter. Was just in for a quick lunch with my mum and we were seated right away and asked if we would like any drinks while reading menu, lots to choose from at reasonable prices, portion sizes are on the larger size which is great as I could take some home for dinner as it was delicious. Lovely atmosphere but was on the colder side but this could be due to being at a window seat in the winter, just a wee bit chilly but not really worth complaining about as not much staff can do. Didn't see anyone other that the guy serving but he was attentive and gave great service! Definitely be back soon
Fab food, great staff , will be back
We were here for lunch as we have been here before and it was lovely, however on this occasion we were disappointed. The starter we got was the combo for two the chicken goujons that were just processed chicken dippers and not very good ones at that! The mains weren't as good either. The place was cold with a draft as well! I am hoping these are going to be sorted in the near future.
Great value for money, good kids menu and prosecco on tap
Good food, reasonable prices, on last visit the service was very poor. We waited a long time for our food ,kids were with us and got very restless. Two of our friends ordered 2 cokes which they obviously forgot about, I had to go to one of the waitress's direct to remind her. Apart from the service I enjoyed the food.
Not as nice as the old one. Took staff just shy of a hour to realise that they had lost our order so had to wait an additional 15+ on top for it to be made. The place wasn’t overly busy so should of been easy to of notice. The food it’s self was good from the portion to the quality. I’d be more likely to recommend for a pint rather than food though. Staff did apologise and discounted which was nice.
Nice pub in centre of town. Had lunch for 5 of us but didn't enjoy, frozen food and overcooked . Had dessert also but wasn't impressed with that either . Would go again for only a drink. Maybe it just was a bad day they had although It was quiet in restaurant food area. Nice large room and close to station.
Nice pub, lovely staff but the food wasn't great to be honest, chicken goujons were tasteless as was the macaroni that my daughter had. My son's lasagne wasn't great either. Hubby had a chilli burger which he enjoyed. So 1 out of 4 meals was good.

We visited here for first time since it moved. And sadly was dissapointment big time. We ordered our meal and after 40 mins I managed to catch the waitress who was busy and asked about our order, she then realised SHE hadn't passed it into the kitchen yet meaning another 15 minute wait. The meal was pleasant enough and they didn't charge for my meal. Not sure we will be back sadly as we loved eating at the old hamishes goose.
