Excellent pub food, the handcut chips were delicious. Huge quantities of food though, couldn't eat half! Service was great too, the girl who served us was friendly and really sweet. It seems they've recently started doing food, and although the menu looks quite basic, what we had was well executed. The main bar is quite dingy, but there's a sunny dining area that was lovely to sit in. Will definitely be back
Superb friendly pub. Felt alienated being sat in the games room with our 2 dog's. Partner stuffers with COPD and smokers don't help. Great service and good food but can do better
So we found this amazingly friendly pub and restaurant while holidaying in the local area. We have a dog so finding places to be able to go and eat at is difficult. It is right in the centre of the village too. And judging by the people that were in the bar id say the locals enjoy it too.nWe were greeted as soon as we entered and everyone had smiles on their faces. We even got introduced to the landlady who was lovelly too.nAs soon as we entered the doggy area one of the members of staff arrived with 2 doggy treats for our dog and another who was already there.nNothing was too much of a problem for anyone. And smiles were in plentiful supply too.nOnto the menu choices and it was a reasonable selection all of what you may expect from a small village pub. There were a couple of items out of stock on the menu but we were ok with that.nWhen the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Great size portions and was obviously cooked fresh. And after speaking to our waiter most of it was home cooked and hand made.nMy only criticism would be that the food could be a little hotter. I think it would be as simple as serving on hotter plates.nOverall superb find in a little village. Lovely staff and some good grub. We will definitely be going back when we next visit the area.
Cheap an cheerful the Mrs said .... Had dogs an had to dine in the bar/gentleman's area....food ok an doombar ale was very smooth
Strange last order times 10.15pm and food 7.30pm but what a lovely experience. Staff are magazine and food is true to previous customers downloaded pictures.nMy food arrived fast. Landlady put on Sky sports and was advised to watch in the cool room weather belter my team lost but the pub won.
