Fully restored Art Deco hotel once owned by Midland Railways. The food is excellent although starters are small in size and a little expensive. Dining is in the sea front restaurant with extensive views. Rotunda bar had wide selection of snacks and main meals with good selection of cocktails. View the Gill mural on the wall behind reception, the art work on the ceiling at the top of the spiral staircase and old railway relief map on the wall in function room 2. Fancy staying? Try one of the roof top penthouses with extensive terraces, hot tub and extensive views over Morecambe Bay.

First class dining with a breathtaking view. My Wife and I had Sunday lunch and I choose from the excellent vegan menu. Atmosphere fantastic, food great, view just incredible, piano playing soothing and the decor absorbing. I'd give 4.5 but don't have the option and always think there's room for improvement so can't give 5, new policy. Recommended to my parents who will be coming soon from Blackpool and we will certainly visit again. Thanks, Ross and Christine

Afternoon tea was A-may-zing!! Service was efficient, good choice of teas and scrumptious array of cakes. The triangular egg custard were a triumph!! Scones light and delicious. Have had afternoon tea at a variety of places and this represented fantastic value! Keep up the high standard. Will definitely go again...maybe have a glass of fizz next time!

Celebrated a 82nd birthday today at The Midland. We travelled a long way for Afternoon tea with my Aunt, Mum and Cousin. Had a fantastic time and the location was absolutely outstanding. Unfortunately the afternoon tea didn't live up to the surroundings. Afternoon tea is now a highly competitive market The Midland could be 5 * with a better choice on the menu Small quiches, small sausage rolls or a pie. The sandwich choice was okay but the cakes were a let down. There needs to be variety!! The staff were friendly and helpful and with a location so stunning what a gold mine good afternoons tea could be.

Our second visit to this beautiful Art Deco hotel right on the beach. Dog friendly! We have room 302 this time with a fabulous roof terrace and hot tub. Really can't recommend it enough. The Lake District in view across the water. Just come here, you won't be disappointed
