Very nice place where people make you feel welcome. The Fish&Chips was huge and very good… As you see nothing was left on my plate. And I loved being given the chance to try the beer before ordering it. I usually don’t like beer but theirs was really nice.Food: 5/5
So good it’s become my new roast dinner local. Unbelievable roast. One of the closest I’ve tasted to home cooking & the beers selection is immense. Tried for a first time on a Sunday and booked the following Sunday before I left . Will be back again very soon inc with my dog who was more than welcome. Thanks guys. Keep up the tasty work!
A fine free house with a superb selection of beers on tap and bottled. But what really sets this pub apart is the excellent food - whether you just want some casual finger food or a proper roast, the food is delicious. My favorites besides the roast: The croquettes and the chicken wings; and main courses the pie and cheeseburger. The cheeseburger alone is better than most dedicated burger joints in London. Now it is pricey but taste the croquettes and you understand why. I paid £50pp including two drinks and a starter + main. The tables outside are on a first-come-first-serve basis - there are tables by the road and they have a terrace too. I prefer the road ones. Lastly, their cocktails and wines are decent as well. Oh and do try to croquettes! Parking: On the weekend you can often park for free and there are paid street parking spots too
My wife and I had a day in London due to some issued with our Air line. went around and explored and knew we wanted to go to a pub for dinner. we got the Scotch egg, Brisket croquettes and Steak and stout pie and everything was the favorite! if you visiting London definitely worth a try!!Food: 5/5
The beer selection is much better than in average pubs still not superior unfortunately. In particular, they had a sour beer and Belgian fruit beer. The atmosphere is nice. The smoked salmon starter was good although the smoked butter was more melted than I would love it. The 1/2 pint prawns came in shells, so was a bit of mixed feelings in terms of peeling them. The aioli sauce was good though
Had the most amazing steak and stout pie! We stumbled into The Mall Tavern just by chance probably being drawn in by the pie gods and quickly get at home in this cozy pub. We ordered 2 pints and the steak and stout pie after being told it was the bartender’s favorite. It did not disappoint. Fresh from the oven a pie as big as a toddler appeared on our table with a giant marrow bone in the middle! While it may say “pie for two” be sure to bring a few extras to help finish it off. Had I had any more room in my belly I would have had the sticky toffee pudding but alas I was happily full of pie.
Perfect! Came here for a Christmas dinner and everything was great from the service to the food. We ordered 3 courses for £45.50 each which is very affordable considering London prices. The pub has a super cosy vibe to it and nice atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and sociable. Would definitely recommend and come here again myself! I really love the tap list, great place to try new beers/lager etc to switch it up : Vegetarian options: Nut Roast, Vegetarian starters
Exceptional service, they gave us different beers to try so we could chose the one we liked. Sunday roast was terrific but the best was the great service provided my the team! Thank youFood: 5/5
phenomenal food and staff!! We are so glad we found this amazing pub on a whim! Staff had great recommendations, service was excellent, food was even better than we imagined!! Highly recommend asking the staff for suggestions. We had two awesome appetizers with them: our favorite being the burretta! We also enjoyed Sunday roast and pork belly with all of the trimmings! 5 stars!
Our first time visiting and it's not disappoint. As we didn't book Friday night they managed to squeeze us in which suits us as we just wanted a quick meal. I ordered skate wing and my partner having shepherd pie, and both dishes were DELICIOUS. Will definitely visit again next time when we are in the area.
