Checked this place out on the recommendation of a friend. Really brilliant staff, very helpful, obviously spotlessly clean and amazing value for money. I will definitely be coming back here next time the craving for a bag of fish and chips hits! I'd never had the food I ordered a Welsh/south west speciality and the staff were really helpful, explaining what was in it, and cooked it fresh. They made sure I had enough chips in case I didn't like it - portion sizes here are more than generous.
The food was great, all freshly cooked, but I don't mind waiting a little longer for that. Reasonably priced, great portion sizes. The staff were nice and friendly and to top it all off I got some thick cut delicious bread and butter to go with it for free! It's the small touches that make things in life...
Absolutely fantastic! Just tried for the 1st time and it really is the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time. The owner and her colleague were so friendly and you can really tell they are trying to make a success of the business! Good luck I wish you all the best!!! THIS IS A MUST TRY
Great service. Fantastic chips just give them a wee bit longer please!. Unfortunately the last time we visited the fish was grey, soggy and inedible.
Excellent service and delicious food, reasonably priced. I especially loved that my chips were a golden brown - perfectly cooked.
Some of my chips were tasty and cooked about right, others were crispy left overs from earlier in the evening or certainly had that texture. I hope this was just a bad night, as it used to be a great wee chippy.
Recently re-opened and we had some great homemade fishcakes with lovely chips. Great tasting and very reasonable prices. 9/10.
Had to wait absolutely ages for Fish and Chips and a Clarks Pie and Chips, and when it finally arrived, the chips were just NOT cooked. Aweful food. Will never go there again.
Awful. Staff are friendly but food always makes me ill, especially the chips. The oil they cook them in is horrible. Ate there again today after a nearly a year hoping they improved...nope. nasty
Up until today, I would have rated the Magnet as a 5. But there has been a revert in staff ... the Welsh girl that was running the place over the past few months, was great and the food was very good. Now it is only worth a 1 star, but to for average I have gone for 3. Now, the original chef/owner is back ... and now I am eating cheap rubbish chips that have been frozen and are rubbish ASDA do better frozen chips, and that is saying something. To compare when the Welsh girl was running the place the chips were amazing and could compete in the best chippy in the area ... many of my friends have said the same.. The afore mentioned person looked at me blank when I asked for a 'Clarks Flaky Pasty' - I have this product from the Magnet many times ... she looked at Luke I was mental ... the pasty is a BS3 made product and all of your competitors serve it ... like you did under the management of the Welsh girl. Now let's mention the teenage girl who was serving and 'trying' to cash up. She asked me 3 times, before having to write it down ... this never happened under the old team. Sorry Magnet, bring back the other team or cook like they did! Until then I will get my chippy meal from Enids, Argus, Willow or Stella's! Sorry but very poor today!
