It was really good. Friendly atmosphere, quick service and great value. My large pizza with extra toppings was served nice and hot and was full of flavour. Had this with a pint of Guinness all for under £10. It's difficult to beat in all honesty. My only slight criticism would be the state of some of the chairs and carpet which were looking somewhat worn and a bit tired.
In my opinion, the best JDW in the area. It's operated as a proper old style local with trips out for regulars and it's rarely scarce of customers. The food by the way is better than some other JDWs in the larger North West area.
Went for a Sunday breakfast which was fantastic. There were 2 members of staff on duty and although they coped with everything and deserved a medal for doing so, it was a bit slow and understandably so. Great food and obviously very popular.
Really nice for a Wetherspoons, I prefer this one to the two in Preston. It has way more of a family friendly feel, and I frequently bump into customers to have a conversation with who are all wonderful. The staff here are also amazing and I get the same warm welcome whether they already know me or not, it's always nice to feel at home somewhere
Not even average, both our meals returned for different reasons. Fine second time around but served at different times. Unbelievably the waiter left one of the returned meals on another table ‍ The manager was run off her feet, most other staff looked like they couldn't care less.
Had lunch today. Ordered a small portion of vegetarian all day brunch.. Food was good and reasonably priced, every table was occupied. Only one waiter serving tables though, clearly a staff shortage, given 4 stars due to this...
It was filthy! Every table had either discarded meals or dirty glasses waiting for clearing. The manager was lovely, apologetic but doing her level best to get things in hand. Staff were in very short supply. Had to send both meals back 1 for being stone cold : , when we complained the member of staff took it away, and unbelievably dumped it on an already overflowing table and disappeared. The drinks we ordered were sat on the bar for ages , in a queue, no staff to deliver them. We eventually got the two meals although not together.
I visited a number of wetherspoons outlets and I always go for the cask beers which generally are second to none. When it comes to having something to eat I generally have a pizza. Maybe hammond tomato or something with extra chilies on and I have never ever being disappointed. Always fantastic.
Has to be one of the smartest best run weatherspoons. Roomy comfortable, food was typical but well presented , the staff could be more sociable but are busy .an enjoyable place to spend an evening with food and drink
Pretty poor bar service as usual, Friday afternoon and one guy serving behind the bar , he's rushed off his feet, but must add still polite The other lady is serving pre orders, also seems very busy. Why is there no more staff? I've been in the past in the week when one member of bar staff serves the bar and also pre orders, it always seems to be the same. Such a shame, but my last visit...
