We stopped here today after arriving to do a walk with the kids and dog at the Anchor and realising it was closed due to flooding, decided to walk to the nearest pub instead. So glad we did! Such a lovely warm inviting place, they found us a table straight away despite it being busy and the food was exceptional. Jo who served us was a real gem too. We’ll be back!
My friend and I came across this lovely pub a couple of weeks ago with our shepherds after getting lost on a walk. Jodie and her team where absolutely lovely very welcoming. Great traditional pub with good ale and proper pies. Lovely food, great service, definitely recommend
We visited at the weekend after being here once before as a walk in ... the restaurant was fully booked but the two very lovely ladies running it found us a table before then relocating us to a better table. Fantastic staff , very, very lovely and friendly lady with dark curly hair and the other lady with long white hair with mauve streaks, excellent service and very very tasty food. We enjoyed our lunch and time here very much and look forward to returning! Highly recommended... thank you for your overall amazing dining experience and second to none hospitality :
Great pub that we'd been meaning to drop in for a meal for sometime, good selection of drinks and local beers. Had a roast lunch - great value but the roast potatoes/Yorkshire puddings were a let down, otherwise the meat and cabbage was tasty. Will pop by again.
Visited here on Sunday for dinner for 10 of us. Staff amazing very attentive and welcoming. Food by far the best roast I've had in a while. Everyone commented on how nice the food was. Will defiantly be back. Thank you
With so many pubs in Sussex who stop serving food from the afternoon on Sunday we needed somewhere to eat as it was 15:30. We phoned ahead and was greeted by a friendly voice who said "yes we serve food all day, come on down!" So we did. My partner and I both had delicious plates of roast beef and Lamb work all the trimmings. You get a decent amount of food and it was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a chat with our newborn baby girl outside in the garden under the veranda. We both finished with a white chocolate and raspberry blondie for dessert which was delightful. We both left with happy bellies and we will definitely be going back!
Amazing pub, we took the camper and were allowed to stay for free on the field behind the pub. Great pub landlady and staff and good food. We will be back for a second visit! There is also the old Lavender railway right next door to see.
Family visit for Sunday lunch. Food was very good with nice large portions. The staff were excellent, very friendly and welcoming and made the visit all the more enjoyable.
Friendly staff, very welcoming. We enjoyed the beer that was on offer and had a main and a pudding. Steak pie was excellent best chips I've tasted for a long time, tasty, crunchy and well cooked. I enjoyed a vegetarian option of West Indian home made peanut and sweet potato stew with basmati rice. There were other vegetarian choices and nothing on the menu that I wouldn't have liked to try. Deserts were interesting I had Banoffee bread and butter pudding with custard and my daughter had raspberry treacle tart both home made. Thoroughly recommend trying the Laughing Fish...can't wait to try other dishes.
Went for Sunday roast with the family and all of the food was delicious, lovely atmosphere and Michelle and the team are always so helpful and friendly, would highly recommend!
