Proper country pub aimed primarily at diners with at least three rooms set out for diners with two having solid fuel fires. We ate at lunch time on a quiet Monday with friends. The pub was warm with a comforting smell of wood smoke. The lunch menu was fairly standard and reasonably priced. The food was excellent as was the service, overall a comfortable cozy lunch. As we left we agreed to eat here again and looked forward to spring when the outside area will start to come into its own The evening menu was more interesting and a little more costly but not too bad. I can imagine enjoying an evening meal here with a few comforting drinks in a very convivial atmosphere.
This is a quintessential old English pub, with a modern twist of gastro pub thrown in for good measure. Food was delicious, plenty of it and hot. Great range for beers and spirits, and they serve the best bar snacks by far in my personal opinion, Pipers crisps. Really friendly staff and the locals were always happy to help with suggestions on things to do. Great experience, and I would highly recommend a visit or stay over in one of their rooms.
Popped in after a walk around Kinder Res. Very cosy and nice real fire burning away. Decent pub food. I had the steak and it was nice and good value for money. The two bar staff that were on was efficient and polite. Would definitely come again, this time without the car so I can have some Hobgoblin ale.
We had a fantastic couple of nights at The Lamb Inn - such a cosy and welcoming pub with excellent service and delicious food. The bed was so comfy and the room was brilliantly equipped, and a great location for visiting different parts of the Peaks. The roast dinner on Sunday and the cooked breakfasts were a definite highlight for us and we would love to come back again! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and looked after :
Xmas present visit and nights stay off my wife ! What a gem of a place. Lovely, friendly family run . Very clean, comfortable and warm room. Food was lovely especially breakfast with assortment of cereals, fresh fruits and yogurt before amazing cooked breakfast. Would definitely recommend
Me and my daughter had a wonderful lunch today for mothers day. We are regular visitors and the pictures are from a previous visit recently. Always tremendous food and service, a lovely place.Service: 5/5
Been 3x times now, food and service brilliant Had the steak and kidney pie of the day was amazing Look forward to the next visit.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed for two nights, room and bathroom were clean and very nicely finished, with the added bonus of outside table and chairs. Service from staff was excellent with both breakfast and evening meals very good and would recommend booking a meal if in the area. Bar and restaurant are really olde world pub style, with nice decor and fires. Handy for a few walks towards Kinder Scout, Castleton, Edale, etc...
An old favourite, which rarely disappoints. Wonderfully traditional in terms of ambience, with real fires. Really welcome in winter, but lovely at all times.
Had a lovely lunch here. The food was beautiful and the staff were very polite and professional.. Will be going there again..Service: 5/5
