Spent 3 weeks here for business the food was very good when they had it. Unfortunately most of the time a large portion of the menu was unavailable. One signiture dish was unavailable for the whole 3 weeks I was there. However the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Great breakfast & santa visit for the kids. The two staff working in the soft play were amazing, round of applause for both of them for doing so well with all the children & extra bits they had to take care of! And Santa was great too, he gave attention and had a chat with each child which was lovely!
Ok for a cheap meal.... you get what you pay for! Edit, today we had 2 for 8.99 main meals. 2 x starters 2.49 each and 2 x full priced desserts. Food was hot, tasty and arrived quickly. Staff were lovely, friendly and really helpful - even when another guest was snotty and rude, the lady dealt with with her professionally and was very dignified.
Popped in this morning to see what the breakfast service was like. We both had the Unlimited option for £9.50 each. This includes a freshly cooked breakfast which can be anything you like, as well as being able to pick from the self service Continental section. This Includes your tea and coffee too. Great service and value for money. Would definitely recommend. Vegetarian options: Options were available. Parking: Ample parking. Dietary restrictions: We were asked if we had any allergies or any special requirements.
Very busy and worth reserving a table if you have the option. Good pub style food, and selection of starters and main course options.Food: 5/5
What a lovely place to have breakfast. We booked here so that we could have a lovely breakfast on the way back home, from a holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The all you could eat breakfast was great, everything was hot. Everyone was full up and a nice way to end the holiday.
We stopped on the way home mainly because of the soft play. The option of soft play and food is a winner. There are reasonably healthy options and a good children's menu and it's tasty. Generally the service was good friendly and with a smile. Slightly stretched I think so sometimes a bit of waiting even though didn't seem busy. But they may well have been short staffed so it's not a big issue. Anyway we'll use it again as it broke the journey home perfectly.
Food was good, as expected at a brewers fayre but well prepared and presented. Steak was perfectly cooked blue which is unusual. Staff super accommodating and really helpful. Play area clean. Was open until 7pm. Kid-friendliness: Play area/soft play is well maintained. You can eat in that area too to maintain supervision of the kids, but there are also some screens in some areas of the main restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance, play area and restaurant areas are mostly accessible, with only a small section of the restaurant up a single step. Didn't try the accessible toilet so can't comment on that.
Vegan burger was amazing!! Good experience and great food. Super recommend if you have young kids as they have a big play soft area to keep them busy for a long time.
Stayed at the premier inn upstairs and decided to try the meals here because it's pretty handy. Food was okay, the burger I got the first day was the most average burger I have ever eaten, which would be fine if not for the price. The continental breakfast is £7 and really isn't worth it for the spread of stale croissants, fruit juice and muesli. At night the inside is very dark and feels like a weird limial zone where I could walk out the door into 1980s Cardiff. One evening we had to wait 40 minutes for an ice cream sundae, I'm not sure if they were waiting for it to freeze.
